A lot of you guys clearly know each other and I am kinda the outsider, or at least an outsider so guess im a bit detached from any pettyness that might go on, but I would say that anyone who spends enough time on here to get involved in slanging and slurring other musos or bands has become a internet user who plays a bit of music rather than a musician who uses the internet. I use this place to procure gigs and check out who is playing what and where. My god that was a liberal pipesmoking pint of dark mild rant werent it. Oh and Piggery Bandana suck big time, ha ha ha

I agree whole heartedly, all the fun had gone and was just coming back IMO, and it took 1 blog to change the dynamics of the site again. We shouldn't have to tread on egg-shells every time we come on here. So it's high time we brought back the love and the fun and just all be friends again.

It appears there's a lot of people seemingly taking things personally, and I'm sure that less than 1% of comments are personal "insults" .... I post more than my fair share of what might deemed to be controversial (deemed by some, not by me) and I accept the response may always not be to my liking ... I can then choose to ignore or try and carry on a rational argument.
I try not to interject into other people's one to one comments, (don't know if I succeed or not)

Like any community we don't HAVE to love each other .. be nice if we did (not physically of course) ... and we're all allowed a little wind up as long as its done in fun ... not always an easy thing to do in writing ... but if someone take you the wrong way then walk away and ignore

and we'll all live happily ever after!!

Donna i do love and respect everyone nor do i slag of bands , venues or individualls at all ,i also agree that yes we were on a high from the mutual respect of each other from the recent charity day , where i might add , all genres of music got on great guns that day and there was absoloutely no bitching or petty rivalry whatsoever , and like i have stated countless times on open blogs on here, i have never ever seen it anywhere but on here, ie only virtual !
There are countless remarks that we are to clicky ! whats that all about ?
my band only started on here 9 months ago ,we never used it before that , nor needed to but we did see what a great site it was , now we didnt know anyone at all (on the site) obviousley since coming on i have made friends and found long lost friends and old band members to , but like yourself Donna you got friendly as we did , so obviousley if you want to get into the so called click,then get yourself known by posting and being friendly and not posting snide comments to piss people off.
I will talk be friendly and chew the Cud with anyone , but i wont suffer fools at all ,to old and cant be arsed anymore

Yeah the problem being is the written word is so open to interpretation in the first place (as history and several of my own text messages prove!) so whether it's an attempt to be humorous is not always plainly obvious. Though Mark is right, several recent posts have made no attempt to disguise their provoking nature. A lot of people on here are very passionate about what they do (which is why there are so many great bands around at the moment and obviously I include ourselves in this catagory!) so offence is easily taken. Now I can take a joke but I don't suffer fools. Unfortunately there are always going to be numptys who think they are being clever by being controversial. Politicians have made a career out of it.

i agree, there are a lot of comments on here now that instantly get my back up, some people aren't happy unless they are stirring things up. Pathetic. Really puts me off coming on here anymore.

You will always get muppets who aint got a good word to say about anything, their life is poorer for it and its like acid eating at them, really wouldnt waste my last silver bullet on em. You are how you interact with others, spread bile and your bilious, be decent and youre a decent person, its not rocket surgery is it. So endeth the .... We have a local bloke, not a bad guitarist, who goes to watch gigs and dogs everyone who plays, how many gigs does he do? At most 5 a year, but hes a bedroom rock god. like anything in life the bad stuff always stands out, on here its only in the minority although it does seem to be becoming regular, however the people that are responding to it are part of it too, ive nearly responded more to some of the controversial blogs lately but if people dont pay attention to these things the stirrers will get bored.

i cant help thinking that some people on here like the sound of their own voice(typing) and opinion way too much, its the "im correct and youre not" situation and ego is playing a part

on one recent controversial blog,which i completely disagreed with and angered me i thought "come on people dont even dignify this", but unfortunately sure enough after a couple of hours there were the inevitable gazillion defensive responses which i sure makes the poster feel great!!

altogether now, pom pom pom .......
