stay awake at the back!!!

food on a gig night....................

i dont like to eat too much before a gig, but always S.T.A.R.V.I.N.G after

so dont like to stuff my face before a gig, and weirdly enough never feel like lots of booze after, if ive not really been drinking muxh when playing, it kinda loses its appeal once ive got home and lugged everything into the house

how very unf**kin R and R!!

when i go and watch a band however thats another story though, big tea before and express train to beer and JD city, and see you in a gutter at 4am!!

Hi Rob, before now I've taken sarnies to eat at half time just to boost the energy level having had a light small tea beforehand. I never was starved at the end. Don't know why I stopped it ?

Rick.

Usually around 4.30, pizza. Then at venue around 8pm Pro Plus is served.

About 50% of the time we get away from gigs in time to get chilli burgers or kebabs. The other 50%....? You have no idea how many coffee tables we've been through in our house. We have Ikea on 24hr alert....

My favourite apres drang session snackage is a meal I've spent a while studying ( or congealing, given the places it comes from) is this:

Quarter pound cheeseburger with Chilli sauce and chips. BUT the burger has to have 4 strips of doner meat on it. I can't abide kebabs as such, but those 4 strips of doner meat set me up for something to eat proper. I introduced our bass player to it last week and he's sold. Pizza rules. Chillidonercheeseburgers dominate. \m/\m/

@happy daize - You can't play the blues on a full stomach

Never did the 3 Kings (Albert, BB and Freddie) any harm.... anyway you can't load the van on an empty stomach!

Nothing too heavy. A big bowl of pasta is the usual weapon of choice. Stock up on carbs and all that.

I never really eat much before a gig either.. Absolutely starving afterwards though and the usual fast food establishment comes in handy..

have a strange ritual on gig days, bacon egg and sausage butty for breakie then nothing but coffee till 5, then just water and 1 pint of lime and soda.
no beer, definatly not on stage.
after gig, a kebab is a must, always ask for extra hot chilli sauce, sometimes this is a biig mistake, then drink till i spill beer over myself that wakes me up, after I've fallen asleep normally watching a crap film on movies for men!!! not always porn before that starts another blog!!!!

Lol, great blog Rob! Dinner is whatever the lovely wife has prepared for me so i can throw it down me neck in time for me to get littl'un in bed and beautify myself before running out the door 45 mins after i got in from work!!
After the gig it tends to be straight home to scoff whatever i can find that comes in a packet and doesnt require any preparation!!

Rock n Roll indeed eh??

I just eat normally.. big, small, whatever I feel like

now, a KIP before the gig, that's another matter... I always try to get an hour or two around 6pm or so, if I've got a gig that night.. it just makes me a bit more perky :)

Papa special kebab ( Widnes take away )around three in morning on way home from gig.

Food of the gods.

Normally only drink iced water prior to gig and very occasionally have Guiness afterwards if not driving van.

Best wishes

John

Normal size tea.
Plenty of beer at the gig if not driving.
Usually bursting for the loo halfway through the 2nd set.
Then maybe a takeaway on the way home.

Rob, You never have a big evening meal. Your from Yorkshire and to tight to spend money on food. I hear you only eat Bread and dripping.

Wolfpack gigs it's Tea at 5ish, nothing special just beans on toast or cheese on toast. Sarnie and a bottle of white wine when i get in, no matter what time it is! I can't sleep without it after a gig as i am always buzzin on a high!

Marseille gigs are a bit different as we play places that give us a rider so we're nibblin all night but i save the booze for back at the hotel as i am not good in hotel beds so once again its a bottle of wine before i can get off to sleep. I remember in November sat up in bed in a hotel in Newcastle at 4am watching Corrie with a bottle of wine thinking "how rock n roll am i? If this was Crue there's be some hot chick next to me now snorting coke off my chest" though it was nice at breakfast people coming up to us, cause they recognized Neil off the telly, and asking for our autographs!

I usually just have a buttie or something similar when gigging, otherwise I feel very uncomfortable, but I always feel hungry after the gig, but by the time we have packed up everything is usually closed, we drove around for about an hour after 1 particular gig and we still did`nt find anywhere open, mind you it was about 1.45am
