Sheffield Rocks!

Great gig at the Pomona Sheffield last night - well worth the long drive from Blackpool. Had forgotten how friendly Sheffield people are. Took the Kerbcrawlers' advice about taking minimal gear and just about managed tofit onto the tiny stage although due to lack of space the strange positioning of my amp has left our drum maestro temporarily (I hope)deaf in his left ear (sorry Rob!).
A quick word about the girls in the crowd - WOW - they're all models - stunning looks, tall, leggy, scantily dressed. Sorry for all of the bum notes due to constant drooling!
This is a top gig and well worth the travel - thank you Keef!

How long did it take you to get over there Bob? And exactly HOW small is the stage there...??
Gotta make sure theres room for the gear AND the bulges in our trousers by the sounds of things!! lol

Lol!
Going took about two and half hours and coming back 2 hours (no traffic). If you do M62/M1 route aim to come off at J33 of M1 (Sheffield Parkway) - its the quickest way in and out of the city centre. From the city end of the Parkway it's only a couple of miles to the venue.
Regarding the stage - it really is tiny. When drums were set up we had just enough room at each side for lead guitar amp and bass amp. Mine went on the back window shelf (unfortunately for Rob the drummer, straight into his left ear!). We left the lighting at Blackpool, save for one of those rotating flower power projector things, which was quite effective on an unlit stage. Personnel-wise it was cramped with the four of us - five could be a problem.
Remember to take a camera - the girls there love posing with the band!
Have a good un.
