ropey & badly recorded, but fun (for us anyway)

Ben & Ryan saw Idle Promise do 'Twist and Shout' at Marigolds on Saturday (i'd left in search of a kebab by then)... and they saw it going down really well... a real crowd pleaser

so tonight they suggested we have a crack at it ourselves... and here's our first attempt (well, about 4th I think)

pretty ropey but we love playing the song already, and we're not afraid to show you how we are, warts n all :)

we'll probably try & play this at the North Valley, Colne, on Friday night (plug plug), if anyone wants to come and hear its world premier

Sounds good to me First time we did we had only played it a couple of times in rehearsal so we just winged it but its got a bit better since then although did Ben and Ryan tell you ours has La Bamba in the middle no idea how that happened

@idle promise - yeah we wont be putting the la bamba bit in, for me its just a bit too cabaret and thats not meant offensivley as the crowd loved it on saturday.
@ THE LEGEND THAT IS DALEK you know i fucking love you pal and your spot on we've basically robbed that tune off another band that robbed it off the beatles who robbed it off the isley brothers who robbed it off the top notes! fucking get on that my smelly friend!

fucking belting tune though and to keep things authentic to the recording my voice is ABSOLUTELY fucked today after belting that out all night

No guys dont do it - I really do hate that tune used to wind me up something cronic when I was younger as everybody played it a birthday and christmas parties lol.

keep dreaming hulk. ive been biting my tongue on this one pal but you cant call anybody. when we saw you @ marigolds i actually thought you were a roadie helping soundcheck for whatever. i kept waiting for the actual singer to get up and start the gig but he never did. you just stood there embarassing yourself with your mick jagger-esque dodgy hip movements and out of tune singing. your voice was flatter than your dodgy pumped up chest and most of the evening the only key you were in was YALE. now get a fucking set of balls and learn how to sing before you start calling me, whos probably about 20 years your junior and could blow you off any stage any day.

To be honest things Is I couldnt care less I get paid to sing badly and have done for 7 years. And as for overflated chest. get some step ladders when I first met you I thought you were kneeling down. And for The record 23.11.78 so your 11?? then again your about the right height. ..... dont diss the hulk son you cant win!!!!!! Like the Yale joke though!!!!
