Gig Available July 24th

A mates wedding.

A friend of mine has asked us to play at his wedding on 24th July in the Kendal area but we are already booked.
Apart from that,we aren`t exactly a wedding band.
SO...
Any bands out there who reckon they fancy playing to a friendly marquee in sunny July up here in the Lake District, let me know and I`ll pass on your details.
Don`t think they are too fussy about the kind of band, but probably someone who can get em dancing.
Not a huge budget - about £600, which isn`t bad under the current climate.
( bearing in mind some wedding bands charge over £1600 which is a bit bloody extortionate in my humble opinion)

Go for it

Chris

I gather a Coldplay tribute wouldn't go down that well then!! :)

Tribute bands tend not to go down well at Weddings to be honest. We have done a few in the past and without exception the people who booked you love it but all the guests would rather have a disco or band who plays dance covers
Just my experience of it anyways
Best wishes

"Tribute bands tend not to go down well at Weddings to be honest"

Especially when Coldplay sing songs about splitting up with yer bird!!!!

Getting married this year myself and my missus won't even have Viva on! Hahahaha!!

@ John FV
I agree mate, same reason we aren`t suited to weddings, the bride / groom books us cos they love us, and the aunties/uncles/grannies think we are too heavy.
More suited to a sweaty rock club.

Daft thing is we used to always get asked for Against All Odds at EVERY wedding we ever played :-P

Go figure.....;-)

Hope whatever band plays enjoys themselves

Lol @ John.. Mad innit! I guess it's like everyone shouting for us to do "Fix You" with lyrics such as:

And the tears come streaming down on your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Madness!

Love the sound of bagpipes and also the Irish pipes.

Into Scottish and Irish stuff like Capercallie etc

Best wishes
