Lamps or LEDs

Just looking into getting some stage lights...

Are these LED lights better than the old Par 56 Cans?

depends which leds you go for..the new mk2 version of the kam parbar is brighter than the mark 1 and theyve just brought out a new one which is brighter still. big advantage of leds is you dont sweat yer nuts off under em.
Have a chat with col @ Warrington sound and light..hes on here. Loads of choice now as to wich make you go for but they are all generally much more portable than hefty parcans

If you can afford led go for them. The expense is well worth It as we've got par cans and their fuckin roasting, I hate em to be honest but they do make a difference. In fact our next purchase will be some decent led lights.

We (Kingpin) have got a Kam Parbar. really light, fits into a case the same size as the bass players guitar (plus stand) and complete with footswitch for varied effects - absolutely stunning. And it draws less wattage and it runs cool.

LED all the way..if you can afford 'em. We've also got the parbar mk 1 and as mentioned above it is a little dim in comparison to lamps but Kam have seen to that with the new versions apparently. Because of this we tend to use LED pars (2 on either side of the stage) and these are brilliant, DMX programmable, but easy to set up as sound to light without a desk. Only downfall is you don't get as good a "tube" effect with smoke

As Alyerpal sez those Kams are feckin blinding so we must have the brighter ones!
