Black Velvet - your thoughts

We keep getting asked to play this...

Every week someone (usually female) asks us to play this. God knows why, it's not our style but when people have had a few they'll ask for anything.

Do any of you actually do this song? I'm not knocking anyone for doing it, just interested...

Yeah, Alannah Myles, rather tasty if I remember rightly. Think she was Robert Plant's gf for a while.

Mmm, don't think this song is for us.

However, here is a gratuitous shot of Ms Myles with a friend which I have just found on the net. (In my next life I want to be a saddle.)

Hi Gaz, yeah, what a star he was!
The 3 we get asked for all the time are BV, Kiss and Meat Loaf. Jesus, it's like punk never happened! The revolution starts here!

FM did a cracking arrangement of Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way segue-ing into Black Velvet was very cool... The bass line and the drum beat are pactically identical to RMW verse....Just a thought

If you don't like it, don't do it.
We're always getting pissed up women asking us for 'Paradise by the dashboard light'.
Not a hope in hell.
Have it on the IPOD for when we've done.

Duke Bocks: ".and the lead guitarist always fretwanked all over the vocals.."

Sign of a bad musician, and a huge ego in my opinion! Not knowing when to shut the funk up and let the song be ..a SONG! lol
I tried to start a band with a guitarist like that! Grrr
(C U Next Tuesday Mr.Ego!) Ha Ha

@ The Kerbcrawlers: What is it with Meatloaf and women!? PMSL

Used to do it years ago, when it came out I think, and another one off the same album, Alannah Myles has a great Rock voice and is highly underrated in my humble opinion.

Black Velvet is a bit cheesy now though I reckon.
