Dr Feelgood - THE MOVIE!!

If you liked Dr Feelgood, you'll love this...

Me and our guitarist Steve had quite an experience last night at our local Vue cinema - a showing of Julian Temple's awesome new film about Dr Feelgood (the greatest pub rock band ever) followed by a satellite broadcast of Wilko Johnson's concert from a London theatre, beamed live into Vue cinemas across the UK.

Imagine Roxette, She Does it Right, Milk and Alcohol etc blasting out through the cinema sound system...

The film is well worth tracking down, either at the flicks or on DVD. Wilko Johnson should have his own TV series, bags of charisma.

Have a look at the trailer:

Hope you get a chance to see it, you won't be disappointed.

I'll look this up definitely!

I saw Dr Feelgood live in their early days when their set was mainly covers. I remember thinking at the time that the 3 original songs they played were by far the best songs in their set.

Some years later, I had the privilige of mixing the sound for the Wilko Johnson band at a gig in North London. He hadn't lost any of his charisma then! How he manages to play a solo note perfect whilst pogoing around the stage, still defies belief!

Lee Brilleaux's mum in the film who looks about 84 and came across great. Some of her comments were very funny. She said she couldn't understand why Lee never wrote any of the songs, 'I even had a go at writin' a few songs myself!' Brilliant.
