What a gig!
I've seen many bands at the MEN -Rush x 3, The Police, Bryan Adams, AC/DC and as a "Ilike the stuff but I wouldnt exacatly call myself a big fan" fan, I can honestly say I was blown away by all aspects of the gig last night.
The support were "Combichrist" unusual line up, two drummers on risers at either side of the stage and a keyboard in the middle and a singer. I can only describe it as Prodigy meets Faithless but very listable as a support and something I would like to continue listening to. check em out
Then the main event Rammstein came on about 9 and the first few numbers were from the new album.Sometimes when a band is promoting a new album the fans a little subdued but not last night.
The sound was feckin AWESOME I could have been in a real sweetspot but the MEN has never been my fav gig for sound but last night it was absolutely nailed with a superb mix..
They did the favourites, Links 234, Ich Will, Sonne, and Du Hast and the pit was absolutely jumping but the whole thing was very theatrical but done well with a fantastic lights and effect show. 2 or 3 Encores and finished at 10.45 ish
There were rumours that they would not be allowed to use the flame throwers - rubbish, you could feel the heat blasts at the back of the hall.
all in all - amazing gig one of the best I have been to.
