The Fix rehearsal tape - Nowhere Man

this week, we have been mostly doing this...

enjoyed tonight's rehearsal because I didn't have to play any bass :)

another few weeks and this should be ok to go.. still to decide whether this should be a full band job or a 'round the campfire' acoustic moment... anyway here it is in a rough & ropey state

you don't have to read it, or listen to it... go and practice your bass playing

Hey trouser flapper as Steve mentioned you don't have to open this blog, however I dare say you have listened to it and jealousy is a very cruel mistress so I completely understand you trying to leave a negative comment. I would too if it wasn't my band, I mean the fact that we are probably half your age and sound miles better than pheonix must REALLY hurt, so I'll let you off pal. Hope to catch you soon, must tick you guys off our list!

Cheers willow. We initially did it full band but stripped it back to practice the harmonies properly and found that they came through miles better that way (for obvious reasons) I made an off the cuff remark that we should do it that way live and then it kinda just stuck. It's bloody hard gettin em all eight but it's gonna be mega to do it live!

subsitute the solids for acoustics, chuck in maybe a beatbox for percussion, turn the PA down to a whisper or sing in a really breathy style and make the punters strain to listen..my contribution..do what you will with it..harmonies are there you just need to feel a bit more comfortable with them..it will come.
Nice one guys,
Kev

Great effort boys, harmonies are definitaly there - as the Duke says you just need to get a little bit more comfortable with them.
My two penneth worth? Got a little bit samey towards the end - maybe bring the full band in about halfway through? Or just bass and then drums towards the end?
Keep at it, you're on a winner!

Spot on rick, three part harmonies pretty much all the way through so to be honest we're pretty much all singing all of the time but Ryan is taking the lead, Steve on the lower parts and me on the top, so to speak
