Promoting music on the radio
RADIO EXPOSURE - every little helps!!!
----------------------------------------------
When bands are looking to promote themselves maybe one way of doing so is through local radio and these days there are tons of legit radio stations all promoting arts in the community of which music is a huge part. Of course by getting involved with these guys, bands are not only helping to promote themselves but also to promote those hard working local radio staff who work tirelessly to benifit the communities they serve.
In recent years a number of north of England radio stations have supported the music of Cold Flame. Time then to repay the favour and pass on details on the fine work that some of our radio friends do on a daily/weekly basis.
HIGH PEAK RADIO has hosted several live sessions by the band over the last few years. They do an excellent job of highlighting arts and community events in the North of Derbyshire. You can tune in daily on 106.4 FM in Buxton and Glossop, 103.3 FM in the mid-High Peak and the Hope Valley, and 106.6 FM from the studios.
Recently the band were contacted by JONATHAN TAYLOR - singer/songwriter and broadcaster who works for DRYSTONE RADIO and runs a weekly all acoustic show The Devils Train. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Jonathan last summer when performing at the Vienna Folk Festival. Jonathan recorded interviews and music during the course of the festival for an hour long radio special. This programme features an interview with the band as well as several tracks recorded as background to other material. To find out more about Jonathon and his radio work log on to http://www.myspace.com/jonathantaylorbulgaria or check out Drystone Radio 106.7 fm Monday 6.00 pm: live feed: www.drystoneradio.com. Repeated on Phoenix 96.7 fm Listen worldwide on live feed: www.phoenixfm.co.uk Mondays at 11.00 pm.
ROY WETTON is based near Mansfield and is involved with local community radio. He presents a weekly internet show at 7pm UK time every Thursday on Millside Hospital radio in Mansfield. Check out www.millsideradio.co.uk as well as ASHFIELD COMMUNITY RADIO. This is a top weekly programme running on a Thursday night with Roy demonstrating his fine taste in music. CHORLEY FM are very active in promoting live music. DJ JAMES BLATCHLEY and his team run weekly programmes featuring the best in folk and acoustic from the north of England.
