The Woolpack Jam Radcliffe - This Sunday 8pm...!!!

Ok... Few things have sparked this so here goes.

I have been involved with The Woolpack Jam since pretty much day one and it is gettin quite a name for itself as a good old jam, with musicians who are open minded and willing to give anythin a go in the name of fun. The punters are great and locally people are making the effort to get down and see the ever improving caliber of musicians that are attending each week.

As it is growing into something rather good, friends are being made, egos left at the door I now along with the other lads want to take this to the next level...

I personally think I know what makes a good jam... but I'm gonna throw it out there to you lot.

If you have been to the Jam tell me what you thought? How we could improve it? and what you expect from a jam night.... in a nut shell hit me with what you want from a jam night.

Much love

Dean x

The idea of putting on a jam is that you let others play, it is not about YOU. Play 2 songs, not 30-50 minutes, and allow people to get up and have a go, good, bad or indifferent.

Do be too well rehearsed in the songs you play to start the night off, it will put people off, the is one "jam" night on a Monday and they are so well rehearsed, they come over as clear smart arsed B/stds, I could thump them, not for their talent, but because they are missing the point of a jam.

Another pet hate, OK its alright to have a go and play songs you know, but I think some of the people who get up with their band and play the songs they played on the previous night or weekend are sado's, with small, can I say dicks on here?

Most people don't jam, they showcase their band, the idea of a jam is that you play with people you don't know, and if you don't know the song too well have a go. Like you say, leave you ego at the door.

There you go Dean, there's a comment, did I also say, don't play all night and not too loud.

I might get up there tonight, I'll leave the band at home.
