Cold Flame set to play some Tull in the next few weeks
Cold Flame - the Jethro Tull link
----------------------------------------
Jethro Tull will be appearing in the UK in March 2010 on a 23 date tour that sees the band playing in the north of England at Liverpool,Manchester and Sheffield. Continiung to tour the world annually, Ian Anderson, Martin Barre and co retain a huge following - the reward for continuing to write and perform music that is both complex, intricate, tuneful and totally individual.Check out www.jethrotull.com for all tour dates and latest info on Tull. Rumour has it that there may even be a new album in the not too distant future but for now go and treat yourselves to one of the greatest and most original and innovative live music acts Britain has ever produced.
Meanwhile back at Cold Flame HQ....For the last eleven years, Cold Flame have performed Jethro Tull music as a specific tribute show in good sized venues and festivals throughout the country. In doing so they have also played with and/or supported a number of ex Tull members including Mick Abrahams,Clive Bunker, Paul Burgess and Glen Cornick. Most recently they were joined on stage by Tull guest musicain - violinist Anna Phoebe. Hats off to flautist/frontman Peter Cheetham who has carried the Ian Anderson lookalike tag with style over the last decade. To celebrate Cold Flame will be highlighting the music of Jethro Tull in a number of concerts booked over the next few weeks starting in Colne,Lancashire at The Queens on Saturday Feb 20th.This concert starts at 9pm and admission is free with a late bar sorted.
Whilst Pete is currently unavailable, the band will however be joined on stage by two guest flautists who will perform both acoustic and electric Tull with the band on alternate gigs. Not exactly fully fledged Tull tribute shows as such but more an opportunity to hear around an hour of Tull music covered by the band.
Vicky Martin comes from Colne and made her debut with the band to rave reviews at the Colne International Blues Festival in August 2009.Her favourite musician not surprisingly is Ian Anderson though she has flatly refused to ever wear a codpiece on stage. Mark Parkinson is from Chorley, is a big Tull fan and made his debut with the band last September.Mark has been a regular on the Manchester/north west cicuit mainly guesting with a number of jazz/blues combos during the last few years.
