Old Isaacs double booked us with Wrecked

Hi guys
Just a quickie to let you know that we're available this Saturday as Mary @ Old Isaacs just called us to let us know they have double booked us with Wrecked this Saturday so we are no longer on @ Old Isaacs, in case any of you were planning on coming along?

This means we are now free this Saturday 20th if anyone has any openings?

Cheers
Nidge

Old Isaacs are partial to a bit of double booking. They did that to us in January. I like how they let you know the same week as you are supposed to be playing. Very unprofessional

The annoying thing is having to let people know who were coming down especially. One of our sis in laws was combining her birthday bash with this gig. It also is, like you say, a bit late in the day so not much chance of getting another one booked now!

Scratch that LOOKING FOR A GIG comment now! One of our brothers has now been earmarked for babysitting duties on Saturday whilst his Mrs hits the town, now that he isn't gigging....... Rock n Roll eh?

It would be Rock n Roll if his Mrs was going to watch Wrecked!

Only joking.

Not even in jest dude ;-)
These type of things also hit some NWB members hard in the pocket. I am not going to start that age old debate of what we do this for as this has nothing to do with that. When a venue cancels at such short notice the band should get paid because they have little or no chance of finding an alternative gig. Also it means we have to ring and mail round to people we had asked to come along.

Hey Guys, really sorry bout the double booking, we had no idea. That was the date she gave us. all the best.

Guys it ain't your fault, it's the date Mary gave us too back in November! Annoying thing is that we now have no more dates there this year but that ain't your fault either! We already had to cancel a date we had there in june cause i am away in Ibiza with Marseille but this leaves us with nothing. These thigs happen but it's just the lateness of it all that is annoying!

Even worse when venue cancels and doesn't even have th decency to inform you.... :-(

M Club and Limelight in Crewe come on down

What has annoyed us the most is that we were told that Wrecked only had one booking at Old Isaacs i 2010 but we've looked on your Myspace and seen you are back at Old Isaacs on 30th July, again NOT YOUR FAULT!!!!! So the excuse we've been given isn't even true!

Do one dude, you are not funny and you can keep your moronic opinions to yourself, a contract has been broken here and that is the only point in question!

we (wrecked) were the ones double booked there last month, and we were the ones who lost out, so we know how it feels guys . As far as we know we are booked in on the 30th july, but I think we better check that one on sat.

Don't get me wrong, we have had to cancel gigs in the past, at short notice, due to illness. what we do in those situations is to come on here or ring around to find the venue another band to replace us, so as not to leave thm in the lurch, and bring them in an income. When it works the other way round do we get paid? NO!!!!!

It would appear to be a wise move Steve ;-)

Limelight used to be a great gig but sadly after Ray Bispham left cowboys took over and started ripping off bands for door takes/ numbers etc so not arsed about that.

M Club is just two mins walk from Limelight and great venue. We only found we were not on last Dec because fan rang for tickets and was told we not playing. Website had us down and everything. Avoid if you want my advice

Best wishes

John

I remember now we did contact them regarding a marseille gig after we found out there had been problems at Limelight, never got anywhere anyway! It's a converted cinema isn't it?

Mary
As quoted by me in this thread "We already had to cancel a date we had there in june cause i am away in Ibiza with Marseille" though you never acknowledged my e mails to confirm you knew about this. I have given you SIX MONTHS NOTICE of this cancelation, unlike the 4 days we have been given...... There's a bit of a difference!

You told Rab yesterday that you would call him, he is waiting on your call. All i did was to post on here that we had a Free date initially due to a double booking, this was the truth wasn't it? All these people on the thread then jumped on it. It wasn't meant as a smear on Old Isaacs. You told Rab that the the band you had double booked us with had only got 1 date with you this year and we have seen they have got 2 so that hurt as well.

This is Nidge BTW who you booked these dates with in the first place.

Iunderstand your a bit pissed of because its so close to the date but unfortunatley i have other things on my mind at the minute that are nothing to do with the pub or bands which is to personal to post on here i will ring rab when i know myself what will be happening but at the minute i cant put anymore bookings in the diary but if you still would like me to swap that date in june i will go through my diary an try to change with another accomodating band

Mary
We had a booking with King Eddie on the 4th June as well that i had to move. It was sorted really easily and we swapped with Bad Horsie for 18th June, no fuss! Rabs go the dates we're free to hand and if you have bookings then we can even approach the bands and ask them! It's that easy! We can work together to make sure everyone is happy. If we can't work it out then we can't work it out and we'll just have to wait until 2011.
