Not a happy Welly

Posted By : Wellington Hotel | Comments : 26

Looks like there's no band for us tonight :(

Our band haven't shown up, they haven't rung and the contact number they've given is out of service.

So it looks like its gonna be a quite night in for us tonight.

So for any other venue who has been contacted by a band called Evil Beneath, you might want to check your contact details for them are correct and confirm. It seems they only know how to use the phone to make a booking and not for cancelling.

Rant over, will now go and drown my sorrows with some vodka :((

A Very Unhappy Donna

...and there would have been a few bands that would have snapped up the opportunity to play at your place, if the "non-appearance band" would have let ya know earlier on in the day! Very naughty.

Bang out of order Donna. I had some one from the band ring me late last year chasing gigs. Not bothering to update, cancel etc is no way to secure a good name or future bookings.

not the done thing that Donna,I would never let a venue down like that, If I could`nt make it to a gig (it would have to be a life or death situation for me, I pride myself on being reliable)it wont do the band concerned any good whatsoever, I would have done my utmost to make it and if I could`nt I would have let the venue know immediately and tried to sort a replacement for us.

Cheers chaps and chappesses. The band in question are registered on this site, thats how they got in touch with us.
so @ Mr NWB ner ner na ner ner, stike em off, they don't deserve to be on this site :)
and @ Anthem, totally agree with your punishment lol.
But rest assured I will be far more cautious the next time someone contacts me about a gig especially if I haven't seen them active on the site, it was just a shame we didn't have time to get a replacement :(

Awful, awful behaviour. Well done for naming and shaming! Their loss as I've heard excellent things about the welly.

Very unprofessional, and a shame when there are so many bands chasing so few venues.

Damn if i had seen this one early enough I would have mobilised the troops ... we are having a damn hard time of it at the moment securing new venues.... Having said that Sod em!! Its one less band clogging up these prize venues. If they have any other nights planned let us pinch them.

@ Viking someone is coming onto the sight cos they have seen this blog and rung me on the back of it to say "we didn't know we had a gig at yours last night and we're not in the business of letting people down" They have offered me a free gig, but I have cautiously refused for now!!!

We Rang You To Explain The Situation, it was all down to our drummer why we didn't show up, we have warned him now of the consequences of his actions. Although i believe the comments posted on this page are out of order, no one knew the reason why we didn't turn up, we are not the type of band to skip gigs.

I understand how pissed off you would of been, and being the guitarist of the band I'm really hacked off about this too. I know you are reluctant to give us a free gig due to the situation, but all we wanted was a chance to explain what happened. Thanks.

Donna, You could always put on a double header (Only one band to pay, so no extra outlay) and if they forget again, you still have one band on stage for the night.
Couple of lessons to be learnt here.
1. Bands, keep the venues updated, new phone numbers, e mail addys.keep in contaact with the venue and confirm your booking a week or so before hand
2. Venues chase the band a week or two before and get them to confirm the gig.

@keef- the band can speak for themselves i know, but-just checked the myspace profile for them-a bit of "internal politics" according to the blog for jan-happens to the best of us? as the mighty zep says "communication breakdown", nothing more. :-)

Lessn learnt, comments taken on board andI now have some food for thought, cheers guys :)
