Fuzzbox Wigan (The Tavern) closed RUMOUR

Not another one? Looking for confirmation!

Just had a text from a very reliable source that said The Fuzzbox (Tavern) in Wigan has closed?
I am not 100% but if you are due to play rhere it is worth looking into!

We played it the other week with Marseille and there was around 100 all paying £8 a head but the night before they had Tygers Of Pan Tang & Praying Mantis on and there was 25 in ( I know that Tygers never go out for less than £750 and Mantis £500 so do the maths! That one was also £8 so they'd have lost £1050 on one gig)

Like i said though it is just a rumour but i have seen posts on here relating to people due to play there so please check it out first.

Oh dear.

We due there 20th next month and our mates Viva La Coldplay the night before.

Contacting venue would seem to be order of the day

Yes the rumour has come out of Wigan so it needs to be nipped in the bud or confirmed guys!

Looks like it's gone bust. Just spoke with John FV and Gareth from our band and they've both said the same thing.. Apparently they're having a meeting about it as we speak. Shame..

That's a shame as it had all the potential to be a really great venue. My only critiscism was that the PA wasn't the best but all that could have been put right.

..thats a shame as you would probably liked playing around in a fuzzbox for a couple of hours ...fnarrr !!!!

Another venue bites the dust. I suppose the Dalek ( Teves) will be telling us it's our fault even though we never played there ;-)
