Falling down like Flies

Thought i would get in before Bloody Garlic has a pop.
With Twin Lizzy and Lostheads announcing today they are folding and The Fix last week.
Who will be next?
Anyone fancy running a book on it? :)
There could be some interesting new line-ups rising from the ashes in the future.

@ Stuart - you beat me to it, was just thinking that myself.

I've just rang the rest of the 45's to make sure we're still a band, LOL,

Rick.

that's just life innit.. old Boethius and his wheel and all that

'Inconsistency is my very essence,' says the wheel. 'Rise up on my spokes if you like, but don't complain when you are cast back down into the depths. Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it is also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away'

:)

tonight Ryan and I are having a jam with a singer/guitarist/songwriter from a fairly well known Burnley (originals) band who recently called it a day - if it all gels it could be terrific

fingers crossed!

I once read a stat that said the formula for the longevity of a band was, on average, either 3 gigs or 18 months. Obviously, some of us on here have been around for a long time. But even LGIT had to replace our departing drummer after aprox 18 months.....
For every band that splits another one is formed, all wiser for the experience. I've been in quite a few bands down the years and I'm always gutted when one breaks up, but I always find or form another.
Such is life.....hope everyone finds the perfect band for themselves like I did.....rock on.

Who can remember that line from the Commitments film when the band broke up?

“ Success would have been predictable, this way it’s poetry “

pmsl,

Rick.

Gary,

i'm not into the bible but I like a bit of philosophy :)

even the famous philosopher Bruce Dickinson said "life is like a wheel... "

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,

The Commitments - the best musical ever (even better than The Wall).

Rabbit: Who's your influences?
Punk: Billy and The Bollocks

Priceless!

Best line from the Commitments - when one of the backing singers (the less attractive one) repels Andrew Strong's advances with the line 'F*** off ya f****** fat f***!'
Poetry.
