in ROCKING ATHERTON for our next gig.
Atherton is quickly becoming a great centre for live music.....there are already 5 pubs (6 if you include just up the road a bit) pubs that put live music on regularly....Two excellent jam nights also on Thursdays and Sundays. Most I've been to have been pretty well attended too...especially of course the Old Isaacs.
Well, next week there will be a new one too.....The Jolly Nailor is re-opening after just being refurbished and is being set up to put live music on a regular basis. I have had a sneak preview of the venue....it's looking very very good for both bands and fans.
There is a resonably sized 'back' room with a good sized stage area for bands to set up in....and more than enough room left for a mosh pit in front....then there is another large room off that, but with a pretty good view of the band area from it....then yet another room on the other side of the bar but again with a reasonable view of the band. Pretty nice set up imo...bit of something for everyone.
It is also going to be a proper REAL ALE pub...with variety and good prices.
I can see it doing very well myself....The acid test being FRIDAY 26th March.....first band on GUNS OR ROSES.
I'm sure it's going to be a spectacular night....you should come along if you're free....check the place and us out.
Mary and Steve will be delighted to see you too. :)
