TCS play lounge!

Last night we played at V-Fresh Cafe, King Street in Blackburn. Now I've done cafe and restaurant gigs in the past with bands that have been simply too lively for restaurants. The Cottonhouse Shakers however are different because we can play a bit of "lounge". Before the gig I had wrote out two set lists to cover myself in case they wanted background music instead of a full on show. In the end we were asked to play a background music first set followed by a livelier 2nd set.

I have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable gigs that I have played in ages. Brilliant food (provided), great appreciative audience (they even clapped during the first spot whilst they were eating) and take your own beer!

In the past V-Fresh has had mainly acoustic acts because of the lack of space. We just took a small vocal PA (our keyboard player uses it for a monitor) and I played through a little 30W amp. An easy but thoroughly enjoyable gig....I was even able to get home and out again for last orders. Result!

Love it TCS ... it should be compulsory for bands to strip down at least a couple of times a year ... really brings out the craft of songs in your set.
