The Belle Vue Blackpool - a venue review

Potentially great.

We ( Catdog) played at the Belle Vue in blackpool last night for the first time, and hopefully not the last. A brief , no frills review of the venue for you ;

Easy lift straight onto the playing area.
Nice friendly staff who were already busy moving tables and chairs out of the way when we arrived.
The Manager (David) seemed a very nice fella.
Bit of a quandry where to put the PA stacks as the place is full of walls/panels and is geared up for food (Beefeater style). As mentioned in a previous blog, not ideal, but didn`t adversely affect the sound too much. Apparantly they are removing one of the walls right in front of the stage area in the near future so should be fine.
Crowd was a bit on the small side but very appreciative and vocal. As much as we could expect for our first visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed it.
We got paid.
Nice to see the irrepressible Keef and the guys from Happy Daize as well as a few other muso`s not on NWB.
Cheers

Chris

Crackin Night Chris, although we only caught the last number of the first set, and the complete second set. Lots of good comments passe over to me and Mark about you guys.
Like you said a small but appreciative crowd in, but word is spreading and your next gig there ( you will be back) will see more folks.
To be honest Blackpool crowds do support bands that they know, rather than taking a chance on a new name. But I am sure you guys will, in a short time be a very dominant force on the local music scene. Great to see/hear and chat last night Chris. Well played guys

Great sound and a very tight set, Chris. Looking forward to seeing you again (I think we're on the same bill for the charity gig).
