ok, I understand people get offended at some "inappropriate" comments but it's the same people all the time, look down as many blogs as you want, it's the same names over and over again. let's try get on ladies and gents, bloody ell, were only having a laff at the end of the day.

The problem is that every single person has a set of boundary's in their own head. Give people freedom and the boundaries that a majority of people find acceptable will be breached.
If you then try to gently enforce the boundaries by putting rules in place, then you get the situation where people will deliberately teeter on the line of what is and isn't acceptable.
Then you will eventually have to go down the hardline of enforcing the rules rigidly, but then who wants that?

I threw an almighty strop in Nov and quit the site because of the constant bickering and the threats of major clampdowns and just the general lack of community and friendship, and the thing I have noticed since coming back is that the same arguments are going on. The same culprits deliberately make provocative, oppionated comments to either enforce their point of view or enhance their reputation as a rebel against tyranny, and even more criminally, the people that react to them, as showing by the 90+ comments that dalek loves garlic gets every time he posts etc.

How we proceed from here on in is only decided by each individuals intentions to this site. The wind up merchants will continue to wind up. The suckers will continue to get sucked in, and the people that try to keep the site on track will be regarded as "dictators controlling the freedom of speech"

So I guess you choose how you want to use the site, and try to ignore what you feel is inappropriate and let the site moderators decide what does and doesn't cross the line.

I could of been offended but by the same turn I have offended people as well its horses for courses. Grow up people. And people wonder why myself and others put our opnions out there it proves as I have said before there are to many musicians on here who are up there own arses and need to realise they are a two bit pub band not fucking Led Zep etc.

As has been pointed out before, this site is viewable by people other than members of the site. And, whilst not wishing to carry this debate on any further there are quite clear offences against the law relating to racist/homophobic/etc comments. NOT that i'm saying i would have thought anything on here went that far, but i for one wouldn't want it testing.

yip was around then, I believe it was 1 person who got the back up of 99% of members on here(names held to protect the innocent), I even had a blog removed that I thought wasn't insultive to anybody, I took it like a man and even said sorry.
I do understand that complaints will be made, god even gene hunt had one for saying "that bird in her underwear"!!!!
however, I do think there should be an ellement of free speech, most say for all the time I have been on here, I have only ever read one thing that I would have found to be a direct insult at one individual, what 1 person finds insultive 100 others just find funny.
