Broken sticks....a split snare head mid song.....what a great bunch of people...

We played our debut last night at Old Isaacs, our first time in Atherton and what a great gig it is with a great bunch of people.

Loading/unloading is easy enough through the back gates, stage area not the biggest but once set up there was enough room for us (just glad were no longer a 5 peice as prob would have struggled).

I was particularly looking forward to trying out my new Sabian Metal-X cymbals (supposedly cymbals made for hard-hitters)...they sounded awesome, money will spent although they weren't bloody cheap I tell ya. Anyway 3 songs in and one of a new pair of sticks snapped...mmm ok...I'm used to sticks snapping and got the switch over down to a fine art. Then...near the end of first set during Suspect Device (SLF) my snare head split...WTF...thats never happened before lol.....so had no option but to stop, showed the audience what had happened and everyones thinkin oh shit thats the end of that then (including band)....ahh but wait I always always bring my spare snare...so quick change and off we go again. Every single gig we've ever done I've always brought my spare snare but never needed it....untill now phew.

Second set went really well with the small but appreciative audience enjoying it......we will be back later in the year and can't wait. All in all a great rockin night....and the comments afterwards were really appreciated.

Massive thanks to Kat and Mitch for having us.....see you soon guys.

Cheers

Cheers pal...its my absolute pride & joy. Still looks new....buying Protection Racket cases when I got the kit was the best thing I ever did....not a scratch on it. Definitely worth investing.

Here's a pic of my full set-up (with dog mascot lol), although not needed for this type of band and since pic was taken, cymbals and heads have been upgraded, some day I'll get to use it all:

Hope to meet you soon
