A Review of this new venture

Unit G2, Pear Mill, Stockport Rd West, Stockport,Cheshire SK62BP.

So lured by the 25% off offer (£30 instead of £40), Kingpin decamped to Pear for rehearsals last night.

The mill is massive, but the lodge man showed us where to go and where to park, and where the lift is.

The venture is still under construction, but no less useable for that. We were greeted by a very freindly Richard (unfortunately Richard wasn't there - yep, 2 Richard's) who showed us around and then ushered us into our rehearsal room.

Don't be put off by the fact that it is on the sixth floor, because they provide everything! Proper plug and play.

Fender amp (there are 2 in the room) for Keith, a choice of rigs for Roj on bass, 2 mics set up and working in boom stands, proper fall back all round and a brand new Gretsch jazz fusion kit for me. I didn't even need my cymbals!

The rooms are large and high ceilinged, but properly sound proofed and damped - the sound was great.

I can say hand on heart that this is the best rehearsal space I have been in. We have rebooked and even at £40 it is a deal due to having to take so little stuf - set up and strip down was literally the time it took to say hi to each other and bye to each other.

When the whole thing is finished with chill out area and kitchen etc etc, plus a couple of (even) bigger rooms and recording facilities, this will really be an awesome rehearsal studio.

If it is near enough for you to use, give it a try. You WILL go back!

Wow - Thanks for the kind review Al - we're both really pleased you guys liked the studio.

I'm sorry I missed you last night but I'm on tour until next week.

I'll catch you next time you're in.

best wishes,

Rich
