Royal Butterfly, Burnley. wanted to "re-negotiate" fee down consideraby so, we passed..............

.....needless to say, it wont be on our future date sheet anymore. any bands booked there should seriously consider confirmng date and fee before going.

Have you checked to see if you're still being advertised?

@rob> not sure if they did any advertising at all....was always a strange mix of folk who came to see the bands and absolute headcases...as they said fridays with bands "had been quiet" I assume non locals have been avoiding the place. shame really but..... best avoided (as a friend of mine says!!) barrie was really cool and very into the bands (ex-agent etc)

That has happened to us. The Stocks at Walkden got VERY sniffy indeed once because we played as a trio, because a man was sick and unable to play - better than cancelling - the attitude we got from them was disgusting.

It also happened at Durty Nelly's in Bolton. It was a slow night and he asked us to take less. It didn't happen and we never went back there either.

We were also cancelled very recently, partly because we shed a guitarist and didn't cut our fee down last time we were at the venue concerned. Meanwhile, the feedback we had last weekend is that we sound much better as a trio...

Are Rush cheaper than some other 4 man band because there are only 3 of them? I think not.

Stocks always been ok with us, agreed fee paid no problem.think the venue has great potential if the bands were promoted corectly.

that landlords story is shocking! how the hell the scumbag who assaulted him isn't in jail is beyond me. shows how bad our penal system is these days.

as an aside, the pub the guy now runs in ossy is where I lived until I was 11 after escaping the clutches of Darwen! strange how things are even slightly connected.

cheers Rick, I think it's new landlord/lady trying it on but...gig's not worth the hassle. late start (10pm), dangerous clientele and lousy load. all in all..........
