Thrash titans hit the north west...

American heavy metal band Metallica return to the M.E.N Arena on Thursday 26 February as part of their first full UK tour in over a decade.

Tickets, priced £40.00, go on sale to the general public this Friday!

The legendary LA rockers will return to Manchester to perform songs from their brand new album Death Magnetic at a special in-the-round show. The band's 12th album in their 27 year career, Death Magnetic stormed to the top of the UK charts earlier this month making it their third UK No.1 album.

Support comes from Machine Head and The Sword.

I'm already off seeing Priest, Megadeth and Testament...thrash overload!!!

I can't see it being better than the Justice tour in 89 but as long as they don't play anything from load, reload or stang-ger then it should be a good night. Althoug I wont be as gutted as i was on friday when I couldn't get an ac/dc ticket. I've seen Metallica live about 6 times including Donnington and Milton Keynes whereas I've never seen acca dacca live :( Will still be trying to get a ticket though.

Megadeth, don't you mean Dave Mustaine and musos for hire?
For me, the definitive line will alsways be Mustaine, Ellefson, Friedman and Menza

Got a backstage pass in Glasgow on the Youthanasia tour, 94 I think it was, and Dave Mustaine was one of the nicest guys I've met. Was expecting him to be a complete @rse. Instead, the @rse turned out to be Marty Friedman, complete tit but there you go. Maybe he was having an off night.

indeed, itll never be the same as the classic megadeth lineup , i could spend ages trying to learn "Hangar 18" note for note but cant be arsed.. amazing stuff

that goes for Holy Wars as well. I gave up on that years ago.
Hopefully, if I get this maiden/priest band off the ground, we might be able to incorporate the odd "deth" classic

Don't suppose you know any bassists that would be interested??????

I appreciate the comment about Mustaine and hired hands. But I never saw Megadeth so if I get to see Holy Wars and Peace Sells live whoever plays them as long as Mustaine is on vocals I'm there.

I was quite surprised to learn that Mustaine is a born again Christian in the Metal Hammer thrash edition. No offence to anyone's religion but his subject matter always seemed somewhat dark!
