The world of guitar wouldn't be the same without it

What a great company

any other Line 6 users out there, I've gotta say I love the sound if my Pod XT live, I've had many valve amps over the years and am a bit neurotic about tone, it's a wonderful piece of kit and sounds superb , the effects as well are top notch, and I've yet to start playin with all the other crazy stuff on there, over the years I've had Pod 2 and Pod xt, at one point I was using a Flextone 3 xl while a Marshall tsl I had was poorly, that sounded superb as well

I still think tube amps are absolutely top drawer , a couple of months ago I spent 900 sovs on my beloved Marshall JVM which is fantastic, but it's all about keeping an open mind, I have with the Line 6 stuff and it's worked well for me, it's great having 2 setup and the best of both worlds :-)

any other users of this great companys products add your feedback on here and what stuff you have

thanks

Rob

I used to use a variax and a pod XTL when I was doing solo gigs, but then again you know that as you saw me. Ive had three variaxes a 500 a 600 and a 700 plus the XTL and I have a UX1 as well. I love line 6 gear, I do all my recording through gearbox and pod farm too

Well you know my feelings. ;o)

I wouldn't be without my X3Live. I record and jam with folks all over the world with it and take it to all my gigs as a standby. It was one of the guitar "rigs" at the Pheasant Pluckers jam and was great straight into the PA.

With the caveat that they seem business focused on getting the entry level volume gear out currently rather than developing an AxeFX killer, I couldn't imagine being without Line6.

Our guitarist has just bought line 6 stuff, not sure as to the specs but deffo sounds better than his Marshall tranny. Anyway he now swears by it.

I want a xt live, finances wont allow for it at the min though!
My mate has just bought a 300 watt line 6 bass amp second hand for a ridiculously low price, and have to say thats a fairly impressive little beast too!

I have used them live on and off for around 5 years now. You need to know how to dial them in. It's not possible to approach them like a normal amp.

I found the best thing to do was take a laptop loaded with the deep edit software into our rehearsal room and tweak the sounds at gig volume. Doing it like that I've had more consistent results gig to gig than I have had with any regular amplifier. Apart from my current one.

Hiya frankie get an xt or x3 live , you'll never look back!

I think any kind of preamp and fx board needs the time spent with it, and when you do it's totally worth it

btw I bought mine off michael the naughty horse, I was after one for the last couple of years having been impressed with their prev stuff and also the results our Scott was getting with one and Scott mentioned that mad mickey was selling his, result!!

I've been using a Line 6 700 acoustic for 4 weeks..and now I've got used to it, its pretty neat....and the alternate tunings are great!
And I'm quite fussy about acoustic guitars!
You really have to learn how the things can be tweaked.

I have been a Line 6 user for over 10 years... love the simplicity.. (remember mick's previous blog graphic)... and yes its about spending time.. dialing in at volume.. but the reliability is fantastic.. I use POD2/FLEXTONE2 stuff cos its more rounded sound than some of the newer tinny metallic aimed stuff.. Rob & Scott (Metalleeka) get great tones from their kit; similar sound to Vai and Hetfield respectively...

Now you've done !!!

used pod2 stuff for years - then went back to all valve and single pedals .............now I want my old rig back !!! damn you rob !!!! ;)

@Hustler... I was like you.. I was solid Line6 user for yonks.. tinkered with a monster rack set up but couldn't find the time/energy/skill to make it work.. back to Line6 for me lol...

Don't get me wrong the valve sounds immense.. but funds/reliability/ease of use are my current deterrents.. although the H&K Switchblade is a great answer to these arguments.

Line 6 stuff is great and keeps getting better, but they do still have a somewhat synthetic sound to them......im sure that future Line 6 products will come along and put and end to this though.
I have used them or recording and practicing but now prefere my Blackstar 5 watt HT-5 combo...amazing sound, has anybody on here tried 'em?

ok heres some settings(numbers in o'clock)

hard rock clean but full tone(with optional chorus and delay)

amp:Line 6 clean
drive 11 bass 1 middle 1 treble 1 pres 8 vol 11
***********************************************
hard rock overdrive 1

amp: treadplate dual

drive 12 bass 12 mid 1 treb 1 pres 9 vol 1
******************************************
high gain rock overdrive 2 (more gain and enough for solos)

as above but with drive at 2 o colock and screamer kicked in and out(ts9 model)
screamer setting drive 15% gain 50% tone 35%
********************************************
chorus and delay setting

chorus: rate 1.74 depth 35 mix 40

delay 310ms(can vary) fbk 10 mix 35

the above is my own hard rock style settings however i use similar setting for Metallica stuff only with bass and treb boosted a little and with more gain than overdrive 2, and jazz chorus model used for clean instead

stay awake at the back!!!!!!!!

happy hunting!!

Rob, you need to tweak around with the Soldano 88 model. It's superb.

I use a Pod XT Pro (the rackmount XT) with the 'bass expansion pack' (basically all the amp models from the Bass Pod Pro) as my bass preamp

I love it... I use the 'Frankenstein' model (one of Line 6's own fantasy bass amps), which you can overdrive into filth without losing proper deep low end...

and the XLR DI outputs are a godsend... I just go up to the sound guy and tell him I've got an xlr out for the bass for him... all he has to do is plug in & turn it up... I get my bass sound out front - easy peasy saint and greavsy :)

anyone who's heard my bass sound live knows I like a bit of grind in there, and the Line 6 stuff does the job perfectly

consider that a recommendation! (for bass anyway)
