Best song intro?

Filed Under : Music , Other

One for the weekend so you can raid your music collections

Was listening to a few tracks last night with me 'phones on 'cos my lovely lady had retired for the night, and on came 'Skyscraper' by David Lee Roth.
Feckin' Hell! Sounds all over the place!
Got me thinking about really good song intros, so I dug out 'Xanadu' by Rush. Now THAT is the way to start a song.

I can't think of a track with a better beginning, but I bet you lot can!.....

one on my list has to be "the hunter"-free-kossof's guitar could cut through steel in that intro break-excellent.and the drum intro is not at all bad either.(damn good, actually!!).

Changes all the time for me and, whilst I was tempted to go for one of the classics (i.e. most of the ones Rob mentions above!), I'm with the Synergy on this one - simple but sounds bloody brilliant:

Raining Blood -Slayer is the most incredible intro ever. Those toms within the feedback over sound of the sky heavily raining blood and then the thunder crash into one of the best guitar riffs ever created.
Fucking incredible.Enough to incite absolute chaos live.
