How about Mr Clapton? - seems a thoroughly, awfully, bloody nice bloke (and he's had some shit in his life)

the guys from Rush are supposed to be top blokes without any ego problems. All the guys from Marillion are genuinely nice guys too.

Ther will always be ego's in this business, however in 40 odd years I have met less than half a dozen (Who shall remain nameless). As far as the wonderfull world of NWB is concerned I have yet to meet a nicer bunch of folk. no ego's, just the nicest friends one could wish for

This should be people you've actually met in person...not their 'media' personas.....

John Robb, singer in Goldblade.
All round top bloke...really looking forward to meeting him again when our paths cross in Morecambe this weekend.
This guy is so nice he even left 'nice' comments on one of LGITs youtube videos covering one of HIS songs....

Also, Charlie Harper, singer in UK Subs....you just wanna hug him. Always joins the 'fans' for a beer and a laugh.

Met Captain Sensible and we chatted away for ages, he even dedicated a song to 'that fat cunt with the glasses and the mohawk who asked us to play this.....'

Quality.

Captain Sensible was on his way to teh Lake District when he stopped off at The Plough & Harrow in Upholland for a beer (courtesy of the good beer guide). Unfortunately I wasn't in that night but my dad and his mates were and they all had a jolly good chat. My dad (about 68 at the time) gave him down the banks (niely like!) about miming on Top Of The Pops!!
Class!

Tex, people always notice the glasses....
I was at a Saxon recently gig watching support band Wolfsbane, the singer Blaze Bailey was doing a great job 'whooping' up the crowd. Most entertaining but I was only 'watching' I looked at Blaze and he pointed right at me and shouted 'You with the glasses.....Clap' ..... he did smile when I 'slat the Vs' at him though....fair play.....

Definately Brian Johnson of AC/DC. As down to earth as they come.
Alice Cooper too.

This one will surprise you

Dave Mustaine : I was sh1tting myself going up to him as he can be a proper tw@t in interviews and his Metallica antics, but I couldn't have met a nicer guy.
We chatted for ages, and he made me feel like I was the star for buying their records and going to see them.

Marty Freidman and Dave Elleffson were the opposite.

Dimebag and Vinnie from Pantera were awesome too.

not a musician, but a notable person of rock...

Tony Wilson

he had a huge reputation (that he apparently loved) for being 'a wanker'... but I met him in Manchester in 1994, and he was a top bloke

I was in a band that were 3rd on the bill at the Roadhouse to a band that TW had come to check out... so he'd watched my band, but I didn't think for a second he'd be interested in us...

and I was right, he wasn't :)

but I collared him for a chat anyway, and he was nice, friendly, gracious and had plenty of time for me... you could tell he genuinely loved music and musicians

Tony Wilson... NOT a wanker at all :)

Don't leave out big Dave Lombardo from Slayer. One of the best drummers in the world but always doing clinics and sessions for the fans and wanna be drummers. No ego either. Check out the double kick drum speed on this guy.
