Surely not another positive tree hugging blog ..

But recognition needed for your nominated stars of nwb, stars due to their approachable nature, open minded attitude, friendliness , help to colleagues, contribution, support of the north west band scene and maybe being able to crank up a note or two..

I could probably write list as long as my arm , And I'm sure i will add some more after but I just wanna put this blog out there..

I know he wouldn't enjoy the acclaim and the attention, but Ricky 45 makes a very positive contribution on here, supporting other NWB bands and smacking the odd tub!
Arise sir Rick! (Ed. OK don't go over the top!!)

Willow
..... and Lady Anne too!

Thanks to the many folks on here whove helped us out - but special mention to Rob , the bass player - for volunteering to sub for us for our gig in July - outstanding !!

Here's a cool thing that happened

one of our first full Metalleeka gigs , the great Alyerpal turned up , and brought some Metallica stickers he'd made for us free if charge, we had a good bitchin sesh about some peeps on nwb and chewed the fat about loads of cool music stuff, he has even admitted to us not being the biggest fan of metallica stuff still gave uz a brill review and made some great constructive and helpful comments , the guy never stops smiling and would help anyone without a second thought, I'm quiet with people at first when I don't know them well but got on with him straight away, always a good sign

more glowing testimonials to follow..

Here's another one .... (and those I don't mention now - there's plenty of time - cos there's loads of good peeps on here) ... I replied to an ad on here for a bass preamp unit, agreed over PM on a price for it, then rang the chap to arrange to pick it up. Now I'm in the foothills of the West Lancashire Mountains, and Mark from Piggery Bandana, for it was he, is in Bury.
We tried for a few mutually convenient times with no joy, then I rang Mark on a bank holiday monday (i think) and said if he was in i could come over and get it. Great he says ... but I'll bring it to you .... and so he did. Top man - all he got was his money, a brew and a tour of the studio (LOL)
A much appreciated gesture from a good guy!

Well, either that or he's embarrassed about his wallpaper!!
LOL

Like Stevo, I wis Sabre Pete would be around more.

But he got gyp from the "straight talkers" so I'm not surprised he doesn't hang much here.

I think Mr (and Mrs) NWB's contribution to, and support of, is IMMENSE!This site really has opened doors to so much for everybody involved.
(And if that don't get my pic on the front of the new NWB site....nothing will)
I'm serious though!

met too many nice people on here to mention to be honest. Used to live in Morecambe and the massive majority of bands up there wouldn't help anyone out unless there was something in it for them, even then they would stab you in the back at first opportunity. The atmosphere on here is fantastic and everyone looks out for everyone else, asking for nothing in return (except the odd person). I've made some very good friends on here.

I find it funny, usually someone has to die before everyone says what a great guy someone was.....
Everyone I've met on here in person has been cool.....we're all in the same game so we should all find it easy to bond and chat.....
So to everyone I've met....cheers, what a great buch of people...
To those I've yet to meet, I bet you can't wait.....
There is however one particular band that will be meeting me very soon who may not enjoy the experience....
Shame you're all too scared to gig in Runcorn so I can meet more of you.....it's not that bad guys.....honest.

blog comments trimmed, i thought some recognition due for the huge amount of helping out that goes on here, but as well i hsve a confession to make that i made the blog theme deliberately happy clappy, to encourage and draw out some well know NWB negative putdowns, i am however disappointed that only a couple of people bit the fishing line on that, and that some of the usual suspects of this didnt rise their head above the castle walls and comment as well :-( made me chuckle anyway....result!!!!!!!!!!

i dont mind you dude, as ive said previously, damn im at it again with the nice stuff, i am the Edith Piaf of NWB, (Je Ne Regrette Rien)

playing devils advocate about the bigging up thing, dont you think a lot of people are just trying to promote their band and being proud of what they do ? ..with them not having a promoter or a pa machine to do that for them, if ya dont believe in yourself , who else will etc?

I've met loads of decent people off here, be it when I've been gigging, or if I've gone to see other bands.. I've spoken to the likes of Rick 45 Magnum (just that extra "1" louder), fleetingly with Night Train Alec (still havn't got an amp for those monitors! lol), Ian from Riff Raff and his even greater Mother's Ruin stuntman (also called Ian), Brian from Sticky Fingers (great guy), jumped in the van with Last Gary In Town for one of his gigs (Brian's neighbour too!), Martin from TFL (Licensed to thrill), RobLeeka, ScottLeeka, KevLeeka and GarethExLeeka, Dyehouse Daz featuring The Empire State Boogie, The Kick's Guys, Viking, Ade from BBGM, All the Dakota crew, Piggery Mark-dana, Ian and lads from The Kerbcrawlers, and with Kingpin Roj today infact. I know the guys from Northern Riot, Papa Legba, Wingit, and Carbon Copies anyway...I've found you can have a better laugh with people ONCE you've met them in person, so that you understand their humour better.... sorry if I've missed anyone. ;-)

There are more top drawer folks on here than you can shake a 5b at.I have made some truly great pals on here, who have done more to keep the spirit of Live Music alive than all those posturing wannabees we see in the national press. Big 'UP' to Rick and Anne,Trig,Rob Redfern,ScottMcMetalleeka.
So far no ones mentioned the hosts at some of the best venues ANYWHERE in the UK. So Major credit to Dave and Dee (Hindley Arms) Jackie (Old Bank Inn, Alan (Crickies), and all those that not only support Live Music but make the bands so welcome.
Internet basck on, but not had much time to log in here. Busy trying to sort out venues in Blackpool, which is going thro a self inflicted nose dive at the mo.
