Regrets?

What kit have you sold that you now wish you had kept?

It happens to all of us, thinning out a collection out of control, family expansion, needing cash.....

If like me you were an early G.A.S sufferer then will at some point have had to part with a gem that you didn't miss until it was gone.

I have a few to get us started.

96 Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite M3 electrics

Selmer Treble & Bass 50 watt all valve head

Hondo 335 copy

Hohner 335 copy

Gretsch Duo Jet Firebird

Marshall 30th Anniversary combo

There are (many) more but these are by far the most painful

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've shown you mine.........

I sold a Japanese Squier Telecaster to a local music shop for peanuts about 15 years ago. I'm not a massive guitar geek, but I was told (after I sold it of course!) it was worth several hundred pounds more than I paid for it!!!

It was also the best guitar I ever owned - so playable. I love the tele twang!!

My dad had an early 70's fender jazz which he used up until he went solo in about 94. He sold it and regretted it. About 6 years ago he found it for sale in a shop and bought it back. It still the minor repairs he done on it and odd screws and stuff so it's deffo his. He keeps it under the bed now never to part. Weird story cos the chances are really low of finding it again.

I had a lovely Squier Jazz Bass that I let go for far too little, as it didn't suit the band I was in at the time. It was quite old but not one of the famous Japanese versions.

My Mackie 1521's recently :o(...only tempered by the fact I bought a Gibson Dobro 33 (the silver engraved ones) with the money..
HOWEVER the real killer, which I will never ever ever get over, and which brings a tear to my eye even right now...was selling THIS! about 25 years ago...way too dear now to replace, unless lottery win comes my way...ain't it good!!!

Gave away a 60s AC30 because it had a ripped speaker and I didn't know you could get replacements. I'd only been playing around 18 months at the time.

I swapped a round badge Gretsch drumkit that used to belong to Jon Hiseman for an Arbiter Autotune kit (BIG mistake) and a Rogers double bass drum kit for a pair of Synares, both in the 70's.

I had a Roland Juno 45 (or was it a 60?!?) synthesizer I sold some while back in exchange for a bass guitar. The only reason I wanted said guitar is because of it's colour - it was fekking awful!!

The synth, however, was bloody amazing. Ahh well...

Grooverman-- I have a Melos echo unit!
Whats it worth?
I regret letting go of my old Wem ER15
amazing little amp when you overdrived it!
Stupid'ist thing I ever did was leaving home and finding out my dad had disposed of my carrier bag "FULL" of various Mullard valves!
there value today would be staggering!
Ahrrrr!

I share your Juno loss as well 53 Degrees North! I traded it with Munroman to pay for petrol and "Munromobile + Munro" to drive down to Reading to pick up my Jupiter 8. Still wonder how great they'd be together. Mine was a Juno 6 (no patch memory), if yours had wood panels and a patch memory then you had the Juno 60 - and a hate to make you even more gutted by they're starting to get rather expensive too (typically £600-£800 on ebay).

Another one is the first bass I had, a Peavey Milestone 3. It had an absolutely wonderful neck. I foolishly traded it towards a Mexican Fender Jazz which was in hindsight an absolute dog of a guitar.

Sorry Mick! If it's any consolation, I miss mine like mad still. Especially when I see how unloved and illtreated it's been at Munro HQ. If it were a dog it'd be in an RSPCA advert looking at you through pitiful puppydog eyes.
