What do you think about this ?

Everyone at work is raving about this free music streaming website

http://listen.grooveshark.com/

Not sure what everyone thinks about the moral issues surrounding free streaming of copyrighted material - but you gotta say , its a handy website !!

similar to spotify.com
do you get ads?
with spotify the ads pay the music fees... also you can upgrade to pay monthly to remove the advertisements ... it is like a radio station where you choose the tracks... i'm sure it will be legal.

Grooveshark is good. I use it when entertaining people at home. Just search for a genre (or band or anything really) and "play all" and you have a juke box of your own choice for the evening.

It's better than Spotify because the adverts are just visual and do not affect the music playing, whereas spotify has short adverts every 4/5 songs unless you pay for it. However I prefer Spotify as it seems to have more music and the layout is easier to use.
And by the way both Spotify and Grooveshark are totally legal, presumably they have some sort of agreement with the record labels. It's good if you just want to listen to a few tracks without having the guilt of downloading or the hassle of youtube...anyway it's well worth a look as is Spotify but you need an invite to Spotify from a paying member. Or just buy the CD?!
