Film One In New Drummer Shock!!!

Our last one died in a bizarre gardening accident, what will become of our newest recruit

Using his network of contacts, Munro-man has sourced us an unbelievably good drummer! Where did he find this new percussive prodigy I hear you ask? Well, he's actually just started work at Munroman's office! No magic, no advert in the NME or a local music shop. Ironically he's also the best stickman we've had by a country mile - having learnt the entire set in time for his first rehearsal with us.

This is great news, as although it looked kind of cool and "out there" not having a drummer, playing to a backing track is a pain in the backside as you're at the mercy of the thing. Drop a beat and you're doomed! Fancy improvising? No chance! It was like gigging in front of a firing squad so to have a human back in charge of the beats is a huge relief. Though it'd be nice if human drummers and had a nice big volume knob, could fit all their gear in a 4u rack case, and had two phono-outputs in place of a mouth, but you can't have everything!

I'm sure I'll be on here bemoaning the demise of the Film One percussion department in about a fortnight as something's bound to go wrong but in the mean time, it's fantastic to be in something resembling a "proper band"!

Oh and while I'm at it, check out our myspace for a brand new recording of "The Lost Age"!

What the feck is goin on folks?....is it just me or does there seem to be serial drum & bass nobbler out there? They're dropping like English footy hopes of late! Is there a megalomanic villain out there collecting them all for some sinister experiment?

Maybe you all should start thinking about getting yr drummers n bassists chipped or tagged??

Be careful out there.......

Our last one held Munroman hostage and tried to convert him to veganism so anything's a bonus!

Perhaps you can! Check out my kit. It fits in a suitcase and has a volume knob (although I'm in control of it) LOL!

Don't give me ideas, Lynn. I'm thinking a full on 80s Simmons kit would look quite cool! Though I can't imagine the ensuing carpal tunnel syndrome that it'd inflict on Pete would go down too well with him! We've got a TD-6 as a backup/rehearsal kit, though live I think Pete will be using his real kit, he is a Maiden fan after all!
