Buddy Guy Manchester Last Night
Absolutely amazing, what a showman, played 90 mins, great sound, some awesome solos on stage and off the stage in the crowd, Buddy never dissapoints live, always a truly great show and a great atmosphere.
i really should have gone to that yesterday, had my buddy guy tee on last nite tho :-) been to his club in Chicago , met him and seen him in glasgow too, that gig was like something out of the blues brothers, people standing and cheering on their seats :-)
Nice one Rob good to see, bet his club his fantastic would love to go, saw him in Memphis tho 2 years ago at the Beale Street Festival just before Santana, bet he was a down to earth guy when you met him.
I was lucky enough to go to his Chicago club in 98 ... the house band was absolutely awesome, but the headliner, Otis Rush, was,er, on something!! LOL Willow
Carl Wethersby and the Chicago Playboys were on when i was there,was a brill nite, Buddy got up and did a little bit of singin but no geetar, hes quite quiet in person, as showmen usually are :-)
bloody hell that name rings a bell ... Carl Wethersby.. was he the house band Rob ... were they all wireless and go walkabout round the club?? Me and Mrs Fish hd a great night in there with two good ole boys from, er, can't remember now! WtF
he sure did!! and the food in there ....wow! (drools).....
Excellent stuff .... i'd love to lay some keys down behind a band like that!! Off to see Bob Cray on Thursday ... I went off Ol' Bob for a long time - be interesting to see wht he's up to now Willow
