There is nothing wrong with modern it will sound the same as a vintage guitar thats what a lot of the effects will do you just have to play with till you get the sound you want and modern guitars are so easy to play its silly.

Was thinking much the same thing H2H, Aren't stagg famously used by ...... c'mon i know this they played whatderyercallit with whoisit.. Tried stagg gear and it was ok but in my opinion was what you would use until you had saved up a few pennies. Certainly wouldn't waggle it around under peoples noses like a big willy, It a bit like my missus saying "hey everybody Ive been sponsored by Tena lady".

On the responses from FYS ... a) can we turn off the caps lock thing please it only highlights what you is saying innit, which in your case is summat i would attempt to de-emphasise a little bit if i was you. b) if you is going to call someone a faggot at least spell it right. You are clearly on the young side and attempting to be street which we all get and are hugely jealous of, but the title of most abrasive person on here is way out of your league at the moment..know your limits, build a vocabulary and then come back to take deans title (haha!).

@Dean .. does that mean the blues will move into industrial ala Gary Moore?

# Posted by James - Metalleeka - 09/07/2010, 13:35 (GMT)

it good for some stuff.. but tracking at speed and fast bends are out.. you have totally change your playing style to get the best out of these..

Avatar

# Posted by Ian - Rocking Horse - 09/07/2010, 14:14 (GMT)

Yep I agree you do have to change your style to suit whatever instrument your replicating to make the most of it. I find the tracking pretty good. I think its most useful for the Hammond, I have managed to learn the whole of the organ solo from burn and it sounds great. Adds some much needed colour when you are just using guitars. And some strings in the background are spot on when playing a ballad

# Posted by James - Metalleeka - 09/07/2010, 14:23 (GMT)

+1 for string backing.... but the Jon Lord's lead on Burn??? this I have to see...

I saw an Eagles tribute the B Eagles(???) using on of these things for the piano lines ... the actual sound was ok but it was just not right - no, no, ... not right!
Strings and pads, that's all IMHO

There is no substitute for the real thing in my opinion too Willowmeister I could never see myself using one, I see it as I do the line6 pod thing mega for a bit of fun. For live use, cant beat luggin a B3 and a lesley upstairs on a gig.

Avatar

# Posted by James - Metalleeka - 09/07/2010, 14:45 (GMT)

oy you... I use both a line6 and Roland GR-20 live... why keep the fun for the bedroom ;-)

# Posted by The Dean Casement Trio - 09/07/2010, 14:48 (GMT)

James mate I have an electric chair set up just for you pal, jokin appart I have a pod they're great... I'm too set in my ways to try it live, used it when I used to rehearse with another band for a bit... I like them things that glow in the back of my amp too much.

no its not a keyboard but then again its to meant to be. But you can't play Hendrix on a fender Rhodes either. and guitar synth comes a damn lot closer to a keyboard than a keyboard does to a guitar

I used to drive a van around Blackburn town centre. At night. Delivering Safety mats and teatowels and aprons to asian takeaways.

It's one of the reasons that I would crawl with my own eyelids out of town rather than eat there.

"He" isn't young. "He's" one of the NWB roster playing games again. The quality of trolling on the internet these days is saddening.

Fair enough. If that's the case he'll last or he won't. If he IS autistic and not another knobhead troll, he'll have a really interesting time trying to handle the responses he gets.
