Rush tribute band

Can't believe there isn't one around the NW!

So.. Who's up for it? I know we're all in other bands but how cool would it be to do a couple of gigs?

As a Bass player it's always been a lifelong dream of mine to do it.. ALMOST succeeded in the early 90's but it never got past rehearsal stages..

Would probably have to be a 5 piece as there's no way I can reach Geddy's pitch without cutting my knackers off!

So who's up for it? And who can give me a lift from Liverpool? :)

Shaun

P.S Call the band THRUSH!

find a singer capable, then find a keys player... both practically impossible.. the next step is selling a Rush trib to venues.. as stated elsewhere its kinda like marmite muso music, never say never though; i've thought about marillion trib but same applies i feel; singers and keys players are hard to find.

Yeah I know what you're saying.. I guess that's why I've never been able to do it! Even if it was just one gig that would kinda fulfill my ambition of playing Rush. Would probably even do it for nothing to be honest. Almost started a Marillion trib myself when PInk Floydish fell on it's arse..

I can hit the vocal, know 80% of their stuff on guitar too

Right.. There's vox and guitar sorted!

I can play about 90% of Rush on Bass myself but bizzarely I struggle on YYZ and Spirit of Radio yet can play a lot of the hard ones with ease!

I would be more than willing to jump a train up there no problem. Wouldn't be able to get my amp up there though (I don't drive you see and usually get a lift from our drummer) which could be a problem...

Couldn't have said it better myself! Did 2112: overture at RushEUCON at Leeds in 2005 during their 'Rush Idol' contest and it was the most enjoyable thing I've ever done.. It was absolutely amazing!!!

Did "The Body Electric" and "Between the Wheels" both from Grace under Pressure a few years later, always loved that album.

Local based (One of the lads used to be my window cleaner LOL) trib band Counterparts. Rather than play all the usual Rush numbers, they recreate one of the Rush gigs. I have booked them to play The Eddy later this year. They tend to play the festivals rather than the NW Pub/Club circuit, but well worth getting along to see them.
