re: Time/Whos On

Just been googling, apparently the sqlmembership provider works on the UTC clock, which means I need to do an hour adjustment as we're in GMT Summertime +1. Its not a biggy issue for the moment. Just hooking up the gig guide before Wrecked kill me! :-)

Gig Guide on now - needs a bit of tidying up, but alteast ive managed to port all the gigs sucessfully from the old database. This new site has a totally different schema, so there was a lot of crossed fingers involved.

As a rule of thumb, people with FAN accounts wont be able to submit gigs (as I had problems in the past with fans adding dodgy/non existent gigs) - On the plus side, I'll be assigning some of the regulars with "gig add" abilities - aka Viking!

Kick the Kat gig now listed!

oooer! responsibility!! do i "do" "responsibility??? (bites fingernails nervously!!)
by the way-THANK YOU!!-i'd promised alan and sharon (cricketers) i'd get the gig on for this week-their it person is not available at the moment.

not a "bug" as such-happened with the previous site as well. is there a way to make it so that when we "Log out" we LOG OUT?? sometimes it can show as being still logged in quite a while after we've signed out.
again-merely an observation? "community recognition programme" sounds rather arkansaw chain gangy, methinks? liking the concept, but perhaps something like "community involvement status", bit less sherriff roscoe p. coltraine?? :-)))

Avatar

# Posted by mr.nwb - 03/04/2008, 20:58 (GMT)

Yeah - I noticed that too - I think its a Cookie authentication problem, in that some people still have a cookie on their computer related to the OLD site, and hence keeping them logged in. Try zapping your cookies, and restarting the browser. Its a problem which happened (and got solved) with the last site too.

Yeah, Community recognition should be a cool way to keep the site chugging along. It'll also be a really good way to monitor/delete off members who dont contribute. I can see the Community Recognition Programm (CRP - lol!), being the new "CHART" headache! hehe

Well if you post a comment, thats +1,.. if theres a typo,. then you'll get -1,.. if you repost with the typos correct that you'll go +1.

You will only go Minus points, if you delete a comment, and dont replace it.

I'll start a Blog about CRP, so the comments can go together.

Hey Paul, just tried adding a few gigs but they've not appeared in the list. Also, just tried to update a couple of the current gigs but they keep defaulting to 8:00 pm start and when I add any comments they don't appear.

Avatar

# Posted by Phoenix - 04/04/2008, 09:34 (GMT)

Just noticed I've lost two CRP points by deleting a gig that had been carried over twice. I've been robbed!

# Posted by mr.nwb - 04/04/2008, 10:08 (GMT)

Hopefully sorted that bug - cheers for spotting that. The time/info should work now

You may have lost a couple of CRP points as I noticed some of your gigs were listed twice :-)

I'll refund you 2 for bringing the bug to my attention :-)

On some of the profile external web links, (well mine and sxnw) the http bit appears twice, (no doubt because i should have just put the www bit onwards). I can't find a way to edit this at the moment.

cheers

# Posted by mr.nwb - 13/04/2008, 16:24 (GMT)

Cheers matt - Yeah noticed that too. Im just uploading/testing the profile edit page. So you should be able to edit it pretty soonish.

Ive hooked up the ability to change you profile name, and to choose your own profile url e.g. northwestbands.co.uk/matt

Thats a new featured added to the new NWB - In the last one, I had to update the URLS manually just so it wouldnt mess up the NWB coding.

(until my hotmail account has 100000000000000000000 emails - grr!) switched the email notification off now too so i think the 'watch' idea would be good! :-)

Does that 'seen band' thing work on band pages? Also, it would be great if on band profiles, you can see the next 5 upcoming gigs that a bands going to play, because the only way to see who's playing when, at the moment, is to go through the pages of gigs.

Hi, Paul. I dunno if this is true of our profile or everyon's, but I can't get ours to enable the "friends request." If someone looks at our profile it says "N/A" for that feature, and that's not very friendly. lol

When I go into our control panel, I can't see how to change it. Feel free to mess with it if you want, Paul. Thanks.

# Posted by "CRUSH" - 05/07/2009, 16:30 (GMT)

Hi, Paul.
I think Crush must be the busiest band on this site, as we seem to have 67,131 CRP points! (is there an "a" missing from the acronym? lol)

Avatar

# Posted by viking - 05/07/2009, 18:32 (GMT)

@ crush- i'm sure mr nwb will correct me iffen i am mistaken, but... it may be something to do with the fact that you have two identical profiles up and running?? (as for the "crp"- i reckon it's something to do with his "country paul" persona- along the lines of roscoe p. coltraine and boss hogg? " come on now, you pesky dukes-need to get those crp points earned for your release"!!! yee hahh!!) :-)

Avatar

# Posted by "CRUSH" - 07/07/2009, 18:43 (GMT)

Hi, Viking. We have only one profile but there are 2 bands called Crush. If you search for Crush, you will find Crush Darwen (us) and Crush Bolton. Somehow C.B's CRP has attached itself to our profile and our picture has somehow been copied onto C.B's profile! weird!

Avatar

# Posted by Willow (of somebig™Fish) (Reti... - 07/07/2009, 19:02 (GMT)

two bands called Crush - one with a CRP total of 67 and one with a total of 133. It happens when you choose the same URL for your NWB site address. You both get the link to the one page. If you don't put a site URL in you all end up on the same page! I'm sure Paul's working on it (amongst other things)!!
Keep up the good work Mr NWB

You'll need to use a more reliable email client such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, or Live.

AOL will probably go bust in a few months anyways. They have it coming.
