Breaking News - Rob has decided to leave Metalleeka

Posted By : Scott - Metalleeka | Comments : 30

But we are delighted to welcome James Kirby from Steelfield onboard

Rob announced to the band yesterday lunchtime that he has decided to leave Metalleeka to follow his hard rock/hair metal roots :-D
With James doing such a brilliant job depping for us on friday night in Blackpool, we already had someone on the sidelines not only with the experience, technical ability and passion for Metallica, but someone who is gig ready and means we can have the smoothest possible transition.

We have had an awesome time with Rob, and like Gareth, he can be proud of the foundations he has built with us and we wish him all the best for all of his future projects.

Rob will be bowing out in style at the Hindley Arms on the 7th Aug followed by the Jolly Nailor on the 14th Aug so feel free to come down and wish us and Rob all the best for the future...and of course get rat-arsed at the same time pmsl

Cheers

Scott, Kev, James and Aaron

it is with a bittersweet feeling that i have decided to leave Metalleeka, it has been a wonderful time, why am i leaving?.... i love the music of Metallica but my first music love in a band situation is definitely playing hard rock/classic rock, i have a potential very exciting venture in the pipeline, but if it comes off, those of you that know me well will say, "yes i can see why he wants to do that", even if that doesnt happen, you will see me very soon doing the kind of stuff that i'm always waxing lyrical about, it will have my usual quality control stamp all over it with some tasty shredding and singing melodic guitar syrup :-) i can say right here and now i have never fallen out with Scott, Kev or Aaron, this is my own decision, they are brilliant guys, i am proud to call them friends and i already have some fantastic memories, my last gigs will be Hindley Arms 7th August, Jolly Naylor Atherton (my final gig) 14th August. i am delighted to announce my brilliant replacement , James from Steelfield, his first gig will be 21st August at the Cricketers Shaw,James like myself has years of experience,a pro outlook,a wonderful guitarist and he is a brilliant guy

its been an exciting journey and im proud to have been a part of it, one month to go, enjoy it and get ready to watch James take the baton and run wild and free!!

god bless

Robert

Continued good luck to Metalleeka - you have deserved support - and all the best to Mr Redfern with his new venture (you're gonna need a backdrop!).

Seems like a season of change....

all the best rob, is seem you have been torn mentaly bettween your classic rock and metaleeka, sadly if you are in a tribute band you have to be 100 per cent at home with repeatedly doing the chosen bands music, it works for some but not for others, glad scott and the others can still continue because mettaleeka has sprung up from nowhere and deserves to be out there on the circuit, you will be back on stage soon no doubt, and good luck, cricky i sound like an agony aunt.
