its a quiet night so why not?

Just thought I'd pop this on here for a bit of feedback.
I wrote this for my then girlfriend a couple of years ago..recorded it at my m8s studio in 3 hours as a Valentines day surprise for her last year. Its a little bit rough as I really haven't had the time to remix it.
Suppose I'm a bit proud that everything you hear is me, keyboards (piano & string sounds), bass, drums, guitar and vocals. I know I dont have the best voice in the world and why I wrote it in a key that isn't my best is beyond me..lol.
Anyhoo..were getting wed next year and she who must be ignored wants it played at the wedding. She put some images to it so she could upload it to you tube and let her m8s hear it. So...should I go back in the studio and tidy it up or do you reckon its fit for public consumption?
For the techies...it was recorded on Cubase and all the keyboard/string sounds are vsti instruments.

Nice one Mr Bocks .. Sounds very much OK to me, my only comment is that (as is normal with things mixed by the singer) the vocals are a tad "light" and quite well back in the mix, don't know if a change of key might help.
But, bottom line, nowt wrong with that for human (or otherwise) consumption just as it is.

You old romantic, you live in a nice place(on the video) You surprised me with the key at the beginning, nice song, but the most important thing is that it belongs to you ,and the one you love.
It will go down a storm at your wedding Good Luck! Regards Johnny

Agree with the Fish, think dropping the key a tad may give the vocal a little more depth but for your wedding, it will be great

sounds fine to me... very soppy but I'm sure it serves it purpose.

if you used some brass it'd almost have the "Chicago/Peter Cetera" vibe

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Know what you mean about the vocals in the mix Willow, not a fan of my own voice..lol.The key is C which when I write at the piano my hands kinda fall naturally on so went with it. Thought about using some brass but didnt want to swamp the strings and we couldnt find a flugel horn sound which might've been nice. Thanks again for the positive comments chaps, you know what it's like when something you scribbled down in 20 mins is up in front of the public! Had the usual gushing sentimental comments from her buddies but I wanted to put it in front of some fellow musos to get a proper idea if it was ok to use as it is.
Thanks and phew!!
