Brass Routes live at the Wheatsheaf, Duckinfield

First time out for the band at the Wheatsheaf and we were reunited for the evening with Drumbags our former sticksman who last played in the band in January 2007. The first set went well and there was a different feel to the band - we were definitely being driven more by the drums than we've been used to of late.
I couldn't quite believe my eyes when , about halfway through the set, I glanced over at the bar and who should be stood there grinning like an idiot but our erstwhile lead vocalist , Tilly, who's last gig was actually on that same night in 2007 ( at the Dog and Partridge in Bolton!)
During the break our singer Graham received a call from his brother to say that their father had collapsed and had been rushed into hospital with a suspected heart attack. Fortunately Tilly stepped in and covered the second set for us and did bloody well!
Graham's been at the hospital most of the night and is back there now - his Dad isn't so good. He's already lost his Mum this year - I suppose we are at that sort of age.
I'd just like to thank everybody involved we ended up going down really well and we met Keith from Kingpin! Good luck with the Bananarama gig pal! Hope to catch the band soon!

It's a good little venue isn't it? We're (Kingpin) back on there later in the year; glad it all turned out OK for you and best wishes to Graham - I know exactly what he's going through.

Jules -Pleasure to meet you last night mate. Me and the Mrs walked out for a curry last night and decided to go for a quick one in the Wheatsheaf on the way home an ended up staying all night! Brass Routes were absolutely brilliant, couldnt get to meet all the band but Tony and Gill on Sax were fantastic, both singers were excellent,(Hope Grahams dad is ok)as for the dep singer -you would never have known he hadnt sung with you for some time same goes for the drummer. You guys handled the news really well and carried on with great professionalism, really great nights entertainment. Nice tele jules and loved "Brown Eyed Girl"! The video on my phone came out ok just need to know how to upload it on here! Hope to see you again soon-Keith
