Mmmmmmm.........

We came up with Then Lizzy the other night liked it at first but I can't get used to it, and whoever I've mentioned it too seems less than keen it's cool it's only 1 letter different and looks ok on a Photoshop logo but it just doesn't roll of the Tongue as well as it could?

Other names that we are all keen on are......

Thinner lizzy
Finn lizzy
live lizzy

we all want lizzy in the name.......

Twin Lizzy
Slim Lizzy

Names without Lizzy.

Live Lizzy states what you do....
but....
Then Lizzy would look SO like Thin Lizzy as to be instantly recognisable...could be advantageous?

look forward to seeing it whatever you call it.

Isn't 'Finn' Irish or Celtic? Finn Lizzy is the closest phonetically, and actually the way a lot of people wouls say 'Thin Lizzy'

You 'eard that Fin Lizzy song.....

The problem with "Then Lizzy" in my eyes is that is doesn't have the "in" sound of "Thin Lizzy", whereas "Twin Lizzy" (as mentioned by someone further up) does...Twin Lizzy would get my vote!

Any of these would suit me

live
Finn
sin
thinner

THEN looks ok on a logo but when Ive mentioned it to people they've all had the expression of someone trying to spell Wales's longest station name..

I really like Finn lizzy, it's different but still great and yes Finn is Celtic , it's a name and also means blond or light

okay-even though "finn" is , akcsherly, GAELIC-NOT celtic (as is apropriate -means "fair one" or "white"!!) that works best, methinks??? :-D

# Posted by grooverman - 05/08/2010, 17:19 (GMT)

"Finn" or "Fionn" In Irish Gealic or Scots Gàidhlig means bright or white or Blond, Interestingly V "Finn" is also a Scandanavian name meaning someone from Lapland.

anyway my choice would be "Jizz Lizzy" definatly unforgetable

The Finn lizzy one was a happy accident, my very first idea was sin lizzy , I phoned roj and he thought I said Finn, which has been in the running ever since, maybe that tells us it's the one to go for, it's still my fave..

Having met Roj, I think the band should be Lancashire Lizzy. Which is short for "Lancashire Lizzy, tepid... TEPID!!"

In all seriousness, Thinner Lizzy is the best of your suggestions. Finn Lizzy is only good when written down, otherwise it sounds too much like the original band name.

Here's my suggestions: -

Jailbreak
Rosalizzy
Still Lizzy
Emerald Lizzy

Good luck with it anyway.

I think you'll find way back in the mists of time that the shortening of the phrase "it isn't Lizzy" to the northern vernacular was mine!
I have registered it with www.dontletanybodystealyourbandname.com and paid my £3.04p to www.professionallookingbandnameservices.co.uk.
I have also regsitered all variations, like The T'int Lizzy and The Last T'int Lizzy Band In Town. Inclusion or exclusion of the grammatically correct apostrophe have been registered.

It will be available to purchase from me for a pint or three of Thwaites Wainwrights or Copper Dragon Golden Pippin and a bag of deluxe chilli pork scratchings.

Please leave your message after the tone

Still think my suggestion 'Lancashire Lizzy' has some merit. You could wear flat caps (ecky thump style) and for an extra twist incorporate live whippets and pigeons with Black pudding encores.Got to be a winner........"Coming Matron!"
