We had a set of NJD Quartet's. They are really good and not too expensive. The iColors, (which are similar) are good too.
Just sold the NJD's to Trig as one of the band decided to buy a pair of KAM ParBars so the NJD's weren't getting used.
Visage ParBars are good as well. This guy sells them on eBay.

We just bought a pair of Equinox quadrille LED's.
Good for us as we are a relatively new band and non of us know anything about lighting.
They are small, light, durable, cheap and pretty effective in small/medium venues. We use them with a haze machine to get a better effect.
Link them together and set them to run to the beat.
Just plug them in Simples.
Good luck.

I recently went to see Colin @ his shop - Warrington Sound and Lights and had a demo with the Kam Parbar Mk 2 and The Kam Power Bar. I bought the latter because they are much brighter and worth paying the difference.
The missus sets them up in two minutes and likes to operate them - simples,

Rick.

The iColour does the job for us - small, lightweight and reasonably cheap. The bulbs are next to nothing to replace.

We`ve just moved to LED`s too. Really lightweight and no hassle. Great effect too, put out loads of light.
