Blogs like this deserve a grumble methinks. How can you take bookings in 2011 when most landlords don't even know if they will be in business in the new year. Wait for disappointing festive trading and watch the pubs drop like flies.....

The bands that are wanted by venues are being approached now.

@The Kerbcrawlers - LOL looking at your gig list - it looks like you're in the same position as the rest of us then!

@ The Cottonhouse Shakers

My posts doesn't read like I meant it. I meant that some venues will be getting their regular bands in early.

We do have a few bookings for next year in the diary, but I doubt it will all really start in earnest 'til October. I will be putting our gigs for next year on NWB and on our site in mid December.

@ Jez C
These are difficult times all round.

@Kerb Ian Youre not kidding! We're new to the scene (old musicians having a midlife crisis/second wind!!) and I'm seeing what must be established bands, really tight, playing in venues with next to no one there, i wonder how they (the venues) keep going.
In fairness to the bands too, not gonna name names, they've all given everything in the circumstances, not seen one who's gone sod it!!!

@Ian - no worries, it was a light hearted comment, no offence taken or given. I only have a handful of gigs for next year and I have 3 bands and dep for another 3. We've nothing in for The Cottonhouse Shakers in 2011.
