just been cancelled at very short notice . very unprofessional , perhaps thats why its on its arse
Despite ringing ALL WEEK venue pulls gig on us at 1130 on morning of the gig
Hey guys if youre booked at the Werneth, consider it cancelled as of now.
this was LGITs update a few weeks ago nwb.co/.../classic-punk-doulbe-header-this-coming-weekend Could have had the decency to tell you as soon as they knew they were cancelling gigs; be very surprised if they just decided this morning. C***s trick as they say...
Jez CLGITs update was a few weeks ago as you say, I only spoke to Danny t'other day who said gigs were on till end of Oct....still, very unprofessional to cancel on the day of the gig.HOTDAfter this we've now taken our Oct gig as cancelled...not on really is it? Seems to me people at the Werneth haven't got a fuckin clue whats going on! And Danny can't keep messing people around.
exactly...c***s trick! Completely lacking in balls and chances of getting a gig on the day.. shame these gigs aren't contracted and not based on trust
We've seen it coming for a while though...but if you're told your gigs going ahead you take it as ligit until told otherwise....BUT not on the day thats bollocks!
Its no co incidence that venues that reply to messages and have good communications are the ones that are busy, and the ones that ignore/cant be bothered are turning into DIY stores
Not good is it !!
Was talking to a couple of Werneth regulars at the Cricketers two weeks ago who said that Danny had actually left the pub and that a manager had been installed till the pub closes in Oct, and HE wasn't interested in bands......says it all really!!!!!!
HOTD Why was your gig cancelled...????? I know it's closing down soon but I was assured our gig, next Sat, would go ahead.....was it ALL gigs cancelled or just yours...??? Gary
As a rule of thumb, if you keep ringing and cant get hold of the "gig2 person or the phone just rings then smell a rat.If a pub goes belly up then the bands are always last to know. In 20 years we have turned up on the night to about 6 gigs where the place is either boarded up or just plain shut. Ring on the day and if no response dont travel.
