very impressed

Oddfellows Arms Eccles

it felt weird at first to be not up there, but as soon as i got used to that, i was really impressed, youd think after being in the band previously you would know what it would sound like, knew a lot of what to expect, but its still way different from the other side, justice was done to Metallicas music, and many of us threw caution to the wind and went for it up front, well youve gotta havent you? :0) ..Scott was really powerful and cool on the lead vocals and rhythm guitar, belting out that Hetfield style faithfully with aplomb, Kev was grinning broadly through the entire gig as always and his bass sounded as driving and powerful as always, Aaron continues to be a total force of nature on the drums, with some new octobans which really added to it, gotta love the sound of those, James on lead guitar was excellent as i knew hed be, really nailing those solos with panache, proud of ya bud, i know this is a labour of love for ya, that slot is in very safe hands

a slightly biased review? of course, but its still honest and even if i hadnt been invokved with the band previously i would still be saying the same thing, a nice compliment is that it reminded me of being in Jillys Rockworld room 1 on a Sat Night, ahhh the memories of larking around were replicated last night by downing Carols well kept Boddingtons and bottles of Desperado combined with dandruff removal and acting daft, always fun with the many great Oddies rock faithful :0)

best songs IMO?......, first set Welcome Home(Sanitarium), sounded huge with the light and shade blending well together, very powerful, second set the ubiquitous Enter Sandman, a furious version which shook the foundations of Church Street LOL

thanks guys really enjoyed it , maybe too much haha

When that photo was posted on FB; I showed it Joolz, explained the tale and literally cried with laughter at the memory of the moment; and it still puts a smile on my face.

What wil stay with me for age is james' expression when he turned to see the flash I had prompted Jean to do just as he was starting a solo, priceless, for everything else there's mastercard :0)

I also like the way we ignored the not rights that nearly spoiled things early on, a victory for the rockers over those ahem .. Individuals

Well, yeah, the little b@$tards in the first set were an eyesore, one of them came over to me and started on me, I couldn't help but think "What a tw@t!" Luckily most of the guys we know rallied around and they were chased out of the door. It was a fantastic gig though. I have Aaron's copy of the setlist here with me lol
