If you want band as a whole, then it' got to be AC/DC

Song? 'Smoke on The Water' Deep Purple.

IMHO

Guns N Roses. Appetite for Destruction - you can probably identify every track from the 1st note in a "name that tune" type way

Which BAND has the MOST instantly recognisable OPENING RIFFS?

Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Status Quo are all good shouts so far.

Its ok...I've started a new blog so we can name the actual songs that contain epic riffs, NOT discuss which band has the MOST.

good question ! our guitarist pisses about at sound checks all the time with em..,,trouble is its puts us in a false sense of support as theres usually some drunken bum thinking great they play "sweet home alabama " or "i wanna be adored" or certain smiths tracks or radioheads "street spirit " etc etc etc ,h what a joy to see their little faces when we break into "pretty vacant" then "no more heroes"
