Have a look at the Red5 RVD1 - only £35 and I'd put it up against any bass drum mic out there!

Asparagus - have you tried any of the boundry mics that are on the market ?

The reason being, ive tried many many bass drum mics, and eben thought i had a very good mic - used it for years in fact, then did a gig with managed sound, and the tech swapped my bass drum mic for his Shure boundry, and used my bass drum mic for my floor tom, and the sound differance was like black v white - I was shocked !!
