It is indeed great material - we have a stab at Bad Moon Rising and the soul band once did Proud Mary ( based around the Tina Turner version), think my fave is Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

Uncanny Rob - I've just chucked one of theirs into the music round of the quiz I do at the local club. Fantastic band and, based on recent appearances on the Jools Holland Later show, John Fogerty still rocks:

Pete Barton had a tribute called "Creedence Clearwater Revived". They used to play the Crown pub in Darwen but I don't think they do it anymore.

Yea the CCR songs have potential to cover them in any sort of music ( i hate the word 'genre' and will never use it ..the word genre' not it !!!!) prob theyre most famous song is a QUO cover !!!

@Mothers Ruin - don't know if thats tongue in cheek - Rockin All Over the World is a CCR song that Quo covered!

CCR are still touring minus John Fogarty, CCR was John Fogarty. He wrote most if not all of their songs, played lead guitar on them all too.

Top dude..........

Yeah, CCR - their tunes were instant classics. They never had mega hits in UK but in terms of chart placings they were the biggest band in USA around 69-71 - loadsa hits.

Used to do Suzy Q and Proud Mary in a previous life. Wanna have a crack at Born on the Bayou now.....and maybe As Long As I Can See the Light.

Had the CCR "best of" for a while now. They do a great version of "Heard it through the Grapevin" and in turn, Rod the Mod does a great cover of "Have you ever seen the rain" ............

Gotta love Creedence

We've just added Proud Mary and a cover of their cover of 'I heard it through the Graopevine' to our setlist. Will see how that works out - hope we can do them justice. Especially grapevine (not the easiest vocals - wish me luck with that!)
