modern classic music movie!

i know a lot of us have seen this film by now but i know quite a few musos that havent, i watched it again the other night, and what a relevant, heart warming, funny , sad and honest film it is

2 best friends that have huge dedication in what they do and will not give up, ever, spinal tap has a lot if parallels and the metallica movie is very interesting but every muso simply has to watch the Anvil movie

favourite bits?

the gig in Prague where they try to pay them with goulash

and where they miss their train, with half their gear strewn across the platform

discuss..

my fave bit is the end where they take the world's longest walk to the stage not knowing if the place will be completely empty or not... and it's full of thousands of mad for it Japanese fans

saddest bit is where the dude tries to talk to some guy from a famous band (I forget who), and the guy from the famous band gives him the most ignorantly blank response

Agreed, brilliant film, tells it like it is! Seen it 3 times now, most defiantly worth a watch!

Fave bit: have to agree with you steve, it ends the film on such a high and good note!

Funniest bit: definatly the goulash in prague, i know its not meant to be funny, but i thought it was hilarious!

Saddest bit: when te go to the record producer and after a 5min chat and a 30sec listen to there album, he basically tells them to feck off!

I'm aware of the band but I've never seen this film....our guitarist, Mark, is always going on about it though....

Sounds good, I don't watch telly but I would watch this. For the record is it the same Anvil - the 80's metal band?

It's like Spinal Tap, but there's the feelgood factor in there. I genuinely felt for them and loved the ending.

You really can't help but feel sorry for them.

I love this film and their music but there's tonnes of us doing this kind of thing. Lips and Rob are lucky in that they knew a producer/director that felt for their cause. Now they'll never have to do their old jobs again but a lot of people will. I wouldn't feel sorry for them too much. Though I do love the film.
