problems getting onto the website

what's going on?

I've just moved house and after a couple of weeks had broadband reconnected ( same provider - Orange ). Everything is great except that I cannot gain access to this site!
I've used Windows (XP and 7) and a Linux (Ubunto) computers all connected to a 'live box' and an array of browsers and all I get is a 'timed out' message when trying to connect. Internet Explorer gave a diagnostic that nothing was wrong at 'my end'.
In fact the only way I've been able to connect to the site is by using a vodaphone stick - a temporary measure bought to cover the period when the broadband was down.
I'm pretty sure I've not been blocked as I don't think I've upset anyone or anything - so was wondering if it was anything to do with the NWB 2 site being almost available.
Would be grateful if anyone could shed any light on my problem as I fear a future without Northwestbands ( No!...)

no worries

yeah - now i know it's an orange thing i'm gonna give them a call tomorrow and see if they know what it would be.

my guess is that it's something nerdy like the particular router we have is set up to block certain types of web site or certain ip addresses. will speak to the boffins there tomorrow and see if they can answer

will post and let you know if or what i find out

I had similar issues with a site called CDRINFO.com, used it for years no problem, then for several weeks could never get on and other people could. Then one day just the same as it had suddenly started, it went away. God knows what it was. People said it was my service provider blocking it, but I couldn't be arsed speaking to someone in India at my cost over something I knew I'd have a nightmare trying to explain. I'm just so damn patient. Not.

Hi, i had problems getting on partysounds and i had a problem updating java so i used revo uninstaller to take out all my java updates, also i recently down loaded google earth app for maps and i removed that also and i can now get on partysounds website.
Only prob is i don't know which one or both has enabled me to do so!!! Hope this helps Mick.
