Which song in your set

do you loathe and detest?

Which track have you as an individual grown to hate, or never really liked in the first place?

My personal thorn in the side is 'Sex on Fire' by The Kings of Leon.

I've never been a massive KOL fan, but find their newer 'poppier' sound even less appealing than the older stuff.

Having played SOF for the best part of 2 years, I now hate it with a passion - especially the start!

However, the rest of the band like playing it, and the audience love it, and let's face it, we're all only there for the audience......

So, go on, which song really get's your goat?

Its hard to hate anything we play though obviously i prefer some more than others. Ultimately, we only play tunes we all agree on doing 100%...so that means we never do a tune any of us dont like.
Must admit that playin Sweet Child of Mine for last twelve years has become a bit boring but then again...punters love it...and we are in the business of entertainment...
KEEP ON ROCKIN....ya dont know wot ya lost till its gone.

Got to agree with Al. We do sex on fire purely for the audience. The song has been played to death but the reaction from the crowd makes it hard to drop from any mainstream venue.

When you were young by The Killers, been playing this song at ever gig now for almost a year, its just boring now. Much like you AYP with sex on fire. Except sex on fire is a good song.

It's funny how it works out - when I joined Kingpin, I really thought 'Sit Down' by James was going to be the 'grit yer teeth and get on with it' track, but I still love playing that!

'Sex on Fire' - ggggrrrrrrrr

I'm looking at all the songs on here that you don't like, maybe you got a bit jaded from over play, but I like a lot of them, and I have heard them many times. In particular I like Because the night, I've only heard Piggery Bandanna do it, but I like it a lot. Cat Scratch Fever, I have yet to see live, so there can't be that many bands perform it. Sex On Fire still works for me, Molly's Chambers would be better. Wishing well is still a classic, maybe a bit overplayed.

I have only ever heard one Quo song live, can't say it was too bad. That's probably 'cos anyone playing Quo is rare. I think it was Paper Plane they played, and it sounded fine to me. )

Teenage kicks, Sweet Home Alabama, and the rest I don't particularly care for these days. I wish someone would get some balls and play some Megadeth and a few different Metallica tracks.

@ Steve Blease - bang on matey, and that's exactly the point I was making.

There is nothing wrong with any of these songs, it's just that (as you say) we've got a bit jaded with them! (Although I wasn't a huge 'SIF' fan in the first place.

It's only for a bit of fun anyway.....

None, because I write the setlist! (TCS)
'What becomes of the broken hearted' by Jimmy Ruffin (Soul Train)... a real dirge to play on bass.
